Yes. Because the only real value in January is LOANS. January is for the panic buys. Middlesboro who most feel "will spend big" have baulked at the Rhodes deal. For it to be back on again Rhodes must be taking one massive pay cut and he was only ever going to leave Blackburn for Middlesboro. Nobody else will pay the silly Wonga that Blackburn do. For me, McCormack in the summer to us from the PL windfall is far better business and value.

Rhodes and McCormack aren't the only players we could have bid for.

Wouldn't want him if we went up , wouldn't pay probably what would be ten million plus for a player who is almost thirty and never played in the top division

Completely irrelevant to the point I was making.
Your point was that Allam is "risking" it with only one decent striker. I think your wrong with this - it's your anti-Allam bias coming out again! We currently in the squad have decent goalscorers in Hernandez, Akpom, Clucas, Snodgrass, Diame, Elmo, with Diomande and possibly Powell to add. We then have the loan window available. The current squad has got us to top of the league, top goalscorers and best goal difference. Compared to the last time we got promoted we are far better off & I don't see a risk that needs £millions spent on it to avoid.

We seem to be getting a large number of tickleresque repeats on here. Any actual transfer news?

I think he'd get a lot more for us if we get promoted.

But he clearly wants shot now and has a buyer at a Championship price, so why would he risk that on us being promoted and finding a buyer who will pay more? I would rather he sell, and we hope we get promoted, the new owner has a windfall and invests early in a glorious future ...

I really don't care if we sign anyone or not, I don't blame Allam at all for not spending any money as I'm pretty sure he'll be gone in the next month or so.

You've completely missed the point being made and I can't believe you're posting that 'anti-Allam bias' bollocks again, you really are a thick ****. <doh>

I'm only posting it 'cos it's self evident from your mutifarious anti-Allam posts. Or are you claiming to be pro-Allam!

Hopefully whoever buys us puts Paul Duffen in charge and we can go and splash out the £30m Rhodes is costing boro over four years and another £9m plus wages on Gray then we can get promoted and relegated and be comitted to outgoings for four years at about 10x our income and we can get wound up and go out of business.

Maybe Peter will be happy then.
