I'd have taken Naismith or Martin on loan.

I'm sure when asked after the last post match interview NA said a striker could be a consideration having failed to find the net - again.

I like Chris Martin, he's old school type, all elbows and sly digs - one of those that opposition fans love to hate; a 'streaky' goal-scorer too.

Chelsea are close to agreeing a €50m deal with Roma for Edin Džeko and Emerson. [Sky Italia]

In this era of stupid transfer fees personally think that’s cheap. I haven’t looked at the figures but Dzecko must have about 40 goals in the last season and half, could easily be 50 by the season’s end. I’d expect him to be €40m plus on his own.

Edit - just looked and he got 39 goals last season and has 12 this season.

And the year before weren't you telling us he was shocking and the Roma fans were laughing at him?

Yeah he was and they were when on loan. He’s scored 50 goals in a year and a half since he signed permanent.

Chelsea fans were laughing at Salah 2 years ago. What’s your point?

Ipswich sign central defender Cameron Carter-Vickers from Spurs on loan until end of season.

Odd one this, he was on a season long loan with the Blunts and was a regular player, Spurs recalled him on the basis that they needed him as cover, then they've immediately sent him out on loan again.

Dont get City’s strategy in this window. Banking on players coming back from injury is bonkers. 10 out of contract players in summer most of whom won’t sign again or will be let go. No movement on offering contract extensions to anyone. Three good signings and we should be ok until summer. Just wages to pay until then. Not a massive gamble. Running a club like this doesn’t make any sense to me. The only objective must be to get to the exit point with as much money as you can. Nigel’s positivity is starting to sound like bull but he must have known what he was letting himself in for. Bad times unless something changes quickly.
