Agreed - been an important player since he first arrived. His headed goal at the Emirates to put us 2-1 up was a thing of real quality, as you say, good luck to him.
Yes, he's the only attacking player we have that actually takes a man on instead of trying to pass sideways. We try to pass our way around defenders, but we aren't good enough or confident enough to do this, but he has the pace and skill to skin somebody at this level 8/10. Plus he's been involved with a large chunk of our goals this season, lose him and you've lost what little creativity we have left.
As he’s created 31 chances, got 4 assists and 6 goals so far this season, I’d care.
Back to the targetman mentioned in early posts on this thread I reckon Charlie Wyke at Bradford is worth a look. Not the fastest but lay offs and through balls to pacier forwards are a strong points and still has an eye for goal when the ball is on the floor.
I would like to see him played on the right allowing him to get his crosses in without having to check onto his right foot or even worse try to cross with the outside of his left foot.
If ever there was a notice of the absolute ineptitude of this football club, FOR ME, it was in two newspaper headlines today.. Van Dijck to Liverpool for £75 million and West Ham bidding £25 million for Mawson. Harry Maguire must be worth £40 of any clubs money ... I believe West Brom have said nob to £30 million Johnny Evans too..
We did have a think about him, signed him, but then released him
I watched him play for our reserves against Brid Town and knew he’d come good!
I agree though, we should have got him back
I didn’t like him at the start of the season, he was sulky and clearly wanted out
However he is one of our best players whether I like it or not, so yes I would care if we sold him
Selling clubs are helped by still being PL clubs when doing the selling though, we weren't so couldn't hold out for as much.
