There was a story doing the rounds that Prutton turned us down for Leeds (around the season Brown was about to take us up).

A few years later, I heard Prutton deny this on local radio, said he's never turned City down as he'd never had the chance to sign for us.

It wasn’t that he turned us down, there was something he said in an interview that suggested he thought he was too good to play for City.

Jesus H... We can slate Ehab for many things, and I do, but the management of contracts we give to players is - on the surface - excellent.

Well no, it's the opposite extreme isn't it. The club has lost millions in income and been set back 10 years thanks to his repeated failure to attract or retain players and managers here.

I disagree, we were always going to be relegated at some point and offering sensible contracts was the right move.

I agree. However, not offering Davies and Huddlestone contracts has bit him on the arse. Not replacing the players we sold with likewise decent young hungry prospects has failed. Infact everything Ehab has done has failed.

What Burnley did was offer sensible contracts. City just comepletely took the piss and are paying the price for it now. We didn't just get relegated; the whole squad was dismantled so we're having to start completely from scratch, and there's absolutely nothing of any worth to show for it. And we've still got the ****ing Allams.
