The difference there is they are expecting Ronaldo to perform in the same league and same level as the last time he was there. With Defoe he will be performing at a much lower level, as for his fitness, Wyke was one of the top scores in this league last season and I'm sure Defoe could still give him a 20m head start over 100m

I get what you’re saying but I reckon we aren’t far behind the Scottish premier League and he isn’t playing, I love Defoe mate and would love his fairytale return but I think there’s too much romance and not enough logic to it, I want us up and I’m not sure it’s too risky. Of course it depends on what the other options are.

no idea mate, but I think the reason we tied him back down to a contract was for this very reason.

I think it's to do with his injuries. How many games has he missed since he broke into the first team? I don't think he's developed as far as he could have by now because of it, and he never seems far away from another spell out because of injury. And Cirkin already looks a better player with more potential.
