This seems like a failure of FFP to me. I wonder whether it'll eventually be changed to stop incentivising clubs selling off their academy talent.

I personally dont see an issue. It incentivises clubs to invest in their academies and produce more talent whilst also incentivising them to sell them rather than just loan them all out like chelsea used to do. Without it we wouldn't have Philogene permanently most likely. We've also benefitted from it in the sale of KLP and will do when we likely sell Greaves

Looking for latest City gossip on Twitter/X and more often than not, you get Turkish tweets.

Either the google Turkish translator is broken or Turkish people are grandmasters at speaking in tongues.

Pick the bones out of this one…

Attila szalai exploded. One after another exploded. Joao Pedro exploded. Everything they sent to Hull City exploded. Are the Europeans donkeys? Can't they see that these are balloons so that they can take artillery from the lighthouse again :)

The message was sent on a Turkish Enigma machine with bugs. It's a coded message to Turkish agents operating in the UK. 'expect our invasion forces to land at dawn somewhere between Cleethorpes and Skegness at 8am on 29th January 2024.' You've been warned!

Not just somewhere. Clearly a lighthouse was mentioned. Landing point is obviously Withernsea.

Fair points. I was thinking it's bad for the soul of the game to have clubs incentivised to get rid of academy players, presumably leading to less players spending their career at their boyhood club as some still do. But your point about the investment in youth and the loan situation is a good counterargument to that.

Only thing I'd like even more would be all Academy associated costs are deducted from FFP - including academy graduates in the first team. While getting a big fee for an academy player would give one benefit, another should be that academy graduates are basically excluded from FFP calcs in the first team. As PLT says, I don't love the fact that kids who have been at a club their entire lives are pushed out the door just to balance the books. If you got a benefit for keeping them as well there'd at least be some incentive to develop good academy prospects and then fill your first team with them.

Allsop is going to have to work on his footwork to reach Ohio. That said, Wolverhampton's keepers regularly kicked it as far as Venus. :emoticon-0125-mmm:
