Was this last night by any chance? I was there Wednesday without enough cash to pay for the merch that my daughter wanted. Between me and the missus the third card we tried worked OK, but the people in front and behind us both had to pay cash. So I think it’s probably a temporary issue with their card machines.

With Jacob stepping up at LB and Philogene back for Millwall that was probably the top priority this window... Not that we've got roon to complain if Giles and Ömür come off.
Jacob stepping up has surely had no bearing on the fact we're still trying to sign Giles and it's apparently very close.
I'm a bit surprised we're not signing a striker though.
I think we’ll still be in for a striker personally. I see Giles being announced today or early next week. Then the remaining signings on deadline day. Everything moves very fast at this point, so what’s true one day, may not be the next.
He did plant the seed after the win against Sunderland by saying he's not afraid to play without a striker...
Ending this window without adding to sharp and Connolly would be extremely foolish imo. Sharps not the answer and whilst Connolly has the potential, Im not confident to rely on his toe/robustness to really challenge top 6.

I think it's clear that we'd like a striker. Perhaps the question is whether we can realistically line up a worthwhile one in time for the deadline. It's a notoriously hard window in which to do business, and there's no point bringing in just any old clogger.
I think the issue is who for the striker. January is expense and everyone wants a striker so they come at a premium. Your options are;
Premier League Players: Young and unproven or older but out of form/mixed record/past it
Championship Players: Clubs at the bottom need to hold on to their good players and those at the top are reluctant to sell to competition - look how Leeds are struggling to move Geldhart on. I think he would be one of our targets but why would Leeds sell/loan to a club who could still pose a threat to them.
Foreign Players: Unproven in the Championship, as we've seen over recent years and could take a while to adapt
Lower League Players: Gamble if they can step up. The top scorers are also usually in a team that is doing well so selling makes little sense. Look at Langstaff, challenging for promotion and just signed a new contract. The lads at Peterborough, their owner knows how to get the most of of deals.
As Baz alludes too, once the dominoes start falling who knows. He also points out the Acun likes the last week of the window and wouldn't be surprised is something (in general not striker focused) comes out of nowhere.

Thought Baz's quote was that he didn't 'get the impression a striker was close' as opposed to we won't be signing one period. Or have I missed something?

In Leeds point of view, strengthening anyone other than Leicester, Ipswich or Southampton is to their advantage. Particularly if it’s a loan and should they meet whoever he ends up at in the play offs, he then wouldn’t be able to play.
It’s a lesson they’ve had before and simply not learnt from if it repeats. Every window they’ve admitted they need to have 3 strikers at any time.
Signed Oscar and Tetteh but wanted Halil - ended up without a striker for large portions of the season.
Signed Connolly and Delap but wanted Davis as well.
Signed Sharp to make up the 3 prior to losing Delap (Baz says he’d be surprised if we saw him again) leaving us with just Sharp and Connolly.
