Absolutely correct. I wondered if he would make it at Liverpool because of his defending. He had one particular fault when a ball was whipped in from our right and he had to use his right foot to clear. And you are absolutely correct that he was left out originally, and he wasn’t the same player when he got into their first team.

We need 4 teams to finish better than Ivory Coast. Cameroon are now 1. Algeria only need a draw against Mauritania who have lost both of their opening games 1-0, to make it 2.

Even if they lose to Mauritania, that would put the latter onto 3 points with a better GD than Ivory Coast, so I think this group is already guaranteed to give a better 3rd placed team than IC.

People forget how many times he was beaten at the far post on headers and positioning - he was decent for us working with Clucas down the left but his cross cum shots were what he came with - Bruce hit him squaring the ball but we had nobody to get in the end - bit like now

Seri has not had a chance to play any minutes yet so i hope they do get through so he can maybe get some game time in the competition.
