Can we be greedy and keep him ta !

Ideally, yeah. But realistically for Morton and Delap we'd probably have to make a good cash offer than ha e a chance getting them on loan again. I reckon if there's no incentive to the parent club and they're off on loan again then they'll probably want lower prem loans after 2 seasons in the champ each.

Of course if we sneak ourselfves a cheeky promotion then the game changes significantly

To clubs like Liverpool and man city, the fee won't matter, if they can get them pren loans then they'll go to those teams even if we offer a bigger loan fee ( which we won't anyway )

Was thinking along the lines of testing the water permanently if we get 15m or (hopefully) more for Jaden.

Worked with Villa to sign Jaden.

Suspect Morton might get a chance at Anfield though.

You are working on the premis that we'd need a cash windfall, not so sure that's the case when we have the biscuit baron on board

It's not about how rich the owners are. They can only spend 13m average above turnover regardless. Which is why Acun's doing everything he can to increase turnover.

So yeah, FFP wouldn't work without a windfall.

And that can be offset by other sales .. Tufan possibly, Oscar ? Number of other fringe players to be taken off the wage bill. Little bit of smart business and its doable, albeit hyperthetical currently.

We won't get back what we paid for Ozan at the stage his contract will be at in summer. Pretty sure the Oscar clause is 3m.

That might just get us Delap's left leg.

Let's see what develops

Indeed, but we need to be thinking about summer in the January window - we potentially have a lot of bodies to replace in the next 2 windows, given who we expect to go anyway and potentially replacing the key loan players also.

Not a lot of room for error/duplication.

Difficult when we don't know we're we will be next season, stranger things have happened, dont get me wrong, I'm not tipping us for promotion here, but then again I didn't think we'd go up in 2008 !

Given how little time he was given at Burnley( partly down to injury i know) and how he was ushered out of the door when we showed an interest, couple that with the suggestion that he was the player who'd believed he has made a mistake in turning us down, I wouldn't be so sure he won't be here next season too.

Was he ushered out the door? It took us most of the summer to get it across the line.

If we can get 3-4m for Ally, Sinik and Tufan, plus another 3m for Oscar, that's a good start. Any fee for Oscar comes off a cost base of nil so it all goes to our bottom line I believe.

Not sure 6m would convince Man C to release Delap just yet.

And he isn't the only business that we need to do either. Not by any stretch.

We do have 3m in the kitty that would have gone on Davis, but then we probably need another striker in Jan anyway. And we're still a CM short and LB too.

We have more to spend than 6m. If we signed Delap on a 4-5 year deal at 10-12m it's only 3m to our bottom line next year.

But there's another thread for this sort of discussion so I'll leave it there.

No, you have a point when speaking specifically of a single marquee signing as the deal you speculated on represents.

My point is what happens when you have to sign Twine and Morton replacements and also have to fill the gaps at left back and yet another striker also.

Yes we'll hopefully use next summers loan market in a similar way to this year, but surely you're not suggesting we have a chance of signing Morton, Delap and Twine on permanents with another striker, a left back, another CM etc and stay within FFP?

25m mil for Jaden then maybe.

But if we manage to keep Jaden for another year then the above would be a massive ask.

Have we got any promising youth talents on their way through?

And I don’t mean Will Jarvis. I’m thinking more along the lines of KLP, Greaves etc.
