Sounds like there's a bit of player power already being applied. His club can accept what they want, but if he won't agree terms then they either get stuck with a player they don't want or he goes to his preferred destination cheaper.
Think they've frozen him out of first team training also. If that's the case then they've somewhat backed themselves into a corner.
