"Yes, clearly not bothered are they.
Some mod delete my account please I can’t stand some of the people on here"

and

"This was a serious comment. If people like sunderpitt are allowed to just post their **** on here I want no part of it. Please remove my account"

Don't be so bloody stupid !

Sunderpitt's allowed his view, right or wrong, as are you, and you seem to be a canny lad, like him, so shut up and keep talking
I just disagree. I don’t see the point in someone on here who posts negativity exclusively.

If we're not happy with just 1 striker, I assume Mowbray is even more unhappy. When Evans got injured he asked for more experience in the middle to compliment the youngsters in there and then asked for another striker when Stewart went off. For whatever reason he didn't get them and has to work with what he's got and now is the time for us to stop morning about who didn't come in and get behind the club

And there is it, i was waiting for you to call me a happy clapper

Once again ill say im not happy we didnt sign a striker but the recruitment team has enough credit in the bank with how theyve progressed the club

I would hate to be a supporter who just moans all the time and cant just enjoy the football we are playing and be excited for the future

I am not sure how long you have been on this board, I certainly don't moan all the time.
However I am furious with the lack of strikers.
We have been playing well, one goal we scored earlier this season must be goal of the season.

We have built up some good momentum, which is vital in all sports, by not having say 3 outright strikers, we are imho killing that momentum.

Joined a month ago, during the school holidays, free to post today cos the teachers are on strike?

How kind of you to come onto the board to sprinkle some of your happy fairy dust.. don't quit posting as your sweet innocence is a welcome change, to grizzly Adam's such as myself.

I think we all agree another striker would have been ideal. It never happened for whatever reason. I'm sure we were working hard to maybe bring a couple of more in. Sometimes it doesn't pan out like you would like. If you can't see the progress we've made in such a short space of time, then there is no point debating with you. You seem to like going to the extremes in attacking the club.

Have you seen him play before?
I haven’t watched him in a full game. I’ve seen various clips of him, looks rapid with good feet. Is he a striker though? His stats certainly don’t suggest that he is. Seems to play off the right hand side from what I’ve seen and read.

I still think it’s madness when people say there’s no strikers available, isn’t there over 50k professional footballers in Europe alone? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Anyway, it’s done now so let’s just get on with it. Geldharts going to start banging them in once he’s got some proper service not like the ****e he was getting at Leeds. FTM

Bass as back-up striker, he can win a fair few balls in the opposition box as the mags well know…

A coach I have worked with previously at Step 4 has just joined the coaching staff of another Step 4 side, after a spell in the Conference and then a few months out of the game. The club reshuffle that brought on this new management team also led to the big name (by that league's standards) centre forward leaving the club. They were left with no recognised CF and struggled to identify the right player. Instead they brought in two very good wingers/attacking midfielders and changed their approach. They won 3 of their first 4 games, moving the club out of the relegation zone. Ergo, while it's nice to have a big No. 9, you can be successful without one.
We do have a CF in Gelhardt, even if he doesn't play quite the same way as Stewart. If anything happens to him, we'll just have to adapt as the team I mentioned above did. I don't see what the fuss is about.

Hope you are right and I am proved wrong.

Mowbray can’t be happy, surely? One young lad on loan to rely on up top for the rest of the season. He won’t complain though, he probably still can’t believe he was offered the job.

I bet the bloke is fuming inside but like you say he won't complain publicly anyway, he's professional enough to not show it.

Not going to lie I'm gutted we haven't filled a position where we have been short for well over a year now but I really do think we will be fine.

I don't believe that there are no centre forwards available anywhere that would fit our model and be willing to sign for us. We have obviously banked on Simms returning but Everton have scuppered that, if we haven't had viable alternatives lined up then that was a mistake but only the club will know that and it's now in the past. It may even be that player values went up as soon as we came knocking as it was obvious that we are pretty desperate for someone once Stewart was stretchered off. In recent years that would have worked and we would have paid over the odds and I'm glad that doesn't happen now.

Anyway it's done now so roll on Saturday.

I urge you to have a look at the premier league table, there’s one squad in particular that cost over £1bn to assemble - they have no recognised striker other than one who’s attitude is **** and never gets a game. They’re mid table.

It’s not the fact you can’t play without a striker, of course you can. But you have to start trying to walk the ball in, something you could see was evident at Fulham. If a striker was on the pitch I genuinely think we would’ve scored a few, instead we had midfielders fluffing chances from inside the box because they’re not fingers. It’s the movement, the runs to draw defenders, holding the ball up to give your defenders a break when you’re on the back foot, the offensive and defensive ability in the air with Stewart in particular.

We have the 2nd highest net spend in the league and have our most exciting team for yrs yet some folk still arent happy
Bullsh!t

Every transfer fee is undisclosed and riddled with clauses, and yet somehow, we have the second-highest net spend in the league???

And to even mention net spend is propagandizing. When was the last time we sold anyone for a decent buck?

What is actually true is this club has the best support in the league by a large margin.

Joined a month ago because I thought I’d found a place to talk about the club in a more positive light compared to twitter and RTG. I’ve been proved right however you’d fight right in over there. Don’t patronise me just because I am fairly young, what on earth does that have to do with anything?
