Definitely need a striker. Listening to TM at the weekend I think he would quite like an Experienced CM for the rest of the season.
Cutting it fine but I think we will see a couple in before close of play.
Did Speakman not say he was happy with 2 players for every position on the pitch in the summer?how many players should be in the succession list for each position? Lets say its 2/3, lets say for whatever reason we cant get them over the line....what do you suggest?...breaking the pay structure? signing anybody just to keep some randoms on the net happy? In other words throwing the very plan that has us where we are out of the window
That looks surprisingly nice.
My only experience of Fife was staying with a workmate in Methil in the 80's for a weekend.
Without doubt the bleakest place I've ever been
Not sure I am seeing any of our rivals for promotion do any business I would have us do yet.
I can vouch for that, have lived in Anstruther, now live in Lundin Links and play golf at Crail.Methil is dire, but the east Neuk, on the other hand, is fantastic.
We should be fussy tho as we need the right playerShort term deal, loans etc. my point is I just don’t think we should be too fussy. Avoid having just the 1 striker at all costs.
Why does it have to be a big striker tho? And why should we just sign anyone

It’s a very nice part of the world.

We were never going to get a direct replacement for Stewart in only 3 daysW
We should be fussy tho as we need the right player
Look we arent going to agree so lets leave it there

Out of interest how many loans can we get in

Spot on, as a newly promoted club, in no danger of a relegation fight at the minute, think we’ve done well. It’s the potential opportunity missed that seems to be the issue for a lot of people, we’re close to the playoffs and that’s stirred up the aspirations in a few.Worst case scenario is we bring nobody in, finish towards the top of the bottom half, and the likes of Dan Neil, Michut, Ekwah, Ba, Hume, Ballard, Alese, Cirkin, Patterson have a whole year of Championship football behind them, heading into a new season with Ross Stewart back in training and ready to attack the league from a far greater position than we did this season
The only thing we can lose is the relatively small chance we have of promotion this season. Which is something we never achieved, so we aren't losing anything. And frankly if signing "any old striker" is the difference between promotion and no promotion I'll eat my hat.
The one thing we can all be sure of is that the club and recruitment team aren't intentionally sitting their thinking one striker is enough. They'll just not want to jeopardise future seasons.
That said, and as I said above, I would suggest we should be willing to bring in a player we otherwise wouldn't, to help the team do what they can to try to achieve promotion this season. But only if its at an acceptable, manageable cost.
I would like a physical Centre forward like Simms for an option. We currently have more attacking threat than we've had for years imo.
