Think Cedric has gotten a rough go from the fans (like several) basically because the fact he can't cross has swept a tarred brush across his whole game. It's a weakness to be sure, but he's been good for us and I don't think he's dropped off a cliff. But still, not actually concerned to see him leave now that we have a clear direction and rebuild. Give Valery and Ramsay the rest of the season. And/or sign the Medium Danish chap if we rate him. All will be well. Good luck Cedric. The memory of your biceps and suspicious looking moustaches will bless us all forever.

He has stagnated, seems to be out of position a fair bit. It seems he does need a change to try and kick start him, maybe this move will do that for him?

I have no problem with Cedric just hope it is a decent fee
 
Cedric has been a great servant to us. A quality player who has been no trouble whilst here but possibly needs a new challenge. Wish him luck if it comes off - it's another feather in his cap.

It got me thinking though. Can you imagine the meltdown there would have been on here back in August if someone was to suggest that by January we would have sold / loaned out Cedric, Gabbi, Boufal, Carrillo, Davis and Hoedt without any purchases....!!

I would have been fine, the team has needed a big change for ages. Youngsters being give a chance adds to the feel good change

Cedric would get replaced. We aren't going to play another 15 games with Valery and Ramsay as the only options.

Mo El can`t cross either, so with them both in the team we were short of ammo from wide areas.
 
Good to see that the club is finally getting on with the much needed clearout, which should have been done in the summer. Would like to see at least 1 come in in this window, but would expect most business to be done in the summer. Hope the club go down the route of what they said about adding 2 or 3 higher quality players to the squad rather than the recent policy of buying mediocre players, over loading the squad and blocking the pathway for the likes of Valery, Slattery etc.

If the sale of Cedric goes through that would put around £25 million in the transfer kitty including the Gabby money. More importantly it would have freed up around £200k a week in wages along with the loaning of Hoedt and Davis.

I’ve never been his greatest fan, and think we’ve been weak in that position since Clyde left. I am also very excited about Yan Valery.

But I still don’t get the overdue haste of some supporters to see him gone. He has flaws, but he’s worked on them, and improved several aspects of his game while he’s been with us. He’s been an ever present, and as far as I can see, a model pro. Be sorry to see him go really, although this might be the right time for him and us.
