I cant imagine Chelsea considering Declan Rice and saying "he can play left back as well"!I wouldn't be so sure. Its certainly a plus when a player is versatile enough to do so.

who is this attacking/creative player we are dropping?
the wing backs will be able to get forward more
We werent talking about Greaves going to ChelseaGreaves won't go to Chelsea. Not every side has 3 quality options in every position.

I mentioned if Chelsea would think it was important if Declan Rice could play left back
More seriously, what good centre back would somebody want to buy and consider playing them at left back as well except in a desperate emergency
Look at the other way, Man Utd play Shaw at centre back sometimes but it's a silly move
What makes you think Rice cant play left back? I bet he could play it a lot better than Greaves.Probably because Rice can't play LB. He can play CB though and in a number of midfield roles which heightens his appeal. Similar to Cucurella who can play CB or LB and has played in both roles for Chelsea.

Cucurella doesnt play centre back, he plays in a back three but definitely still as a left back
Man Utd have played Shaw at centre back this seasonObviously not because he doesn't play there but he can play further forward, and does which enhances his value.

They are the best straws in the pondLet it go. You're clutching at straws now.
No. Did Greaves play at left back before he played at left back?Probably the fact he's never played there as far as I'm aware. Do you have any examples of him playing there?
How can you have a back three that includes a left back? On the weekend Chilwell lined up at LWB with Cururella at CB.
Blunt an attack when I would have Oscar AND Connolly as strikers!?I wouldn't be so sure. Its certainly a plus when a player is versatile enough to do so.
We don't currently need a 5th defender in the 11 and he's not getting in ahead of Alfie or Sean right now, quite rightly.
Why further blunt a not exactly prolific attack to accommodate another defender when it's blatantly obvious we need to create more not concede fewer?
Smacks of favouritism to me.

Cucurella played as a left back in a back three
Chilwell played left midfield

Do you really think Cucurella is any kind of centre back?
Brighton have been laughing about the £60m they got from Chelsea

So you cant think of a player who dropped out who we would miss?No space for an attacking CM or proper wingers. Your formation plays 5 defenders not 4, just to accommodate Greaves for the sake of accommodating Greaves when we don't need another defender.
When did we play 2 up top?I think Greaves has played left at youth level and/or on loan.
He's got both in his locker as he's proved this season and that's not a bad thing as far as his potential and value are concerned.
Well yeah, cos we've been playing 2 up top with a back 4 and an extra attacking midfielder without conceding many anyway.
Taking an AM or Winger off to accommodate the extra defender makes absolutely no sense, given the context.
So you cant think of a player who dropped out who we would miss?
Slater isnt playing as an attacking CM recently? - or do you want him holding hands with Greaves?
2 wing backs as part of the "5 defenders"
Obviously formations have to compromise but by the same token I'm playing two strikers - why? Because we dont score many goals!!!
