There seems to be a general acceptance from the club that this will be Greaves last season with us. The money clubs will pay will be far too much for us to turn down. Your list is probably about right, though Pelkas will probably be turned into a permanent deal.
If he signs for us others will be green with envy. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Getting rid of Docherty and Greaves would be madness Greaves might want to go seeing how he has been messed around I'd like to see Oscar and Connolly up front together You need a certain type of player to be up front on your own - or certain types of players around you!
He probably will be a top class centre half. But what should we do, drop McLoughlin? We just have a lot of good defenders currently.
Play a different formation 1 goalkeeper - Darlow 3 centre backs - Jones Greaves McLoughlin 2 wing backs - Coyle Elder 3 midfield - Seri Docherty Slater 2 strikers - Oscar Connolly
But then you're dropping an attacking/creative player for another defender when we're solid enough at the back without the need for an additional centre half.
We gave him his first team chance at centre half ffs. Won't do his value any harm looking decent at LB if he leaves either.
who is this attacking/creative player we are dropping? the wing backs will be able to get forward more
I wouldn't be so sure. Its certainly a plus when a player is versatile enough to do so. We don't currently need a 5th defender in the 11 and he's not getting in ahead of Alfie or Sean right now, quite rightly. Why further blunt a not exactly prolific attack to accommodate another defender when it's blatantly obvious we need to create more not concede fewer? Smacks of favouritism to me.
