It's that pace in behind gives us another dimension. Means if they press high they're open to the ball over the top. That wasn't working before as we just didn't have the pace to get beyond defenders.
Very true but it also helps if you’ve got the ability to instantly get the ball under control and then be able to put the ball in the back of the net.

I thought this was an analogy in reply to the previous post, as it accurately describes some of my posts on here;

Totally agree. We look a transformed side with Connolly. Strange how one player can have such an immediate impact.
I can’t think of a player having such an affect before maybe Campbell?
Cameron Stewart, Walters had massive impacts, But non resulted in us going onto our first promotion to Premier, so not sure that can be disputed.

Harry Wilson was a bright spark in what was an otherwise mediocre season.

For me, Ducian Kuciak had the biggest impact. We were promoted that season, wouldn’t have been if he hadn’t have signed.

by all accounts, fleming is impressing at oxford despite them being in some sort of perpetual freefall

I’m sure most will agree that’s not surprising, he’s a quality player. Oxford were lucky to get him and he’s unlucky not to be involved in this side IMO.

I think to be fair to Fleming, KLP being sold has affected him more than any other player. They were friends, played on the left together etc. He’s not been the same this season.

It's certainly feasible that ready-made understanding with Greaves to his right and KLP ahead could have masked a few deficiencies in his game elsewhere.

Found his level, that's all. Maybe he will kick on, but at present in his development he is nowhere near good enough defensively for the championship.

Harsh to say he's not been the same this season, he's basically not played for us this season.

And what little he did play was after being thrown in to a already struggling and out of form side pretty much as soon as he was available, having been out a long time and missed pre season and a sizeable chunk of the season. The vast majority of players would likely struggle in those circumstances. I think people forget just how good he was in the second half of last season.
