Hasn't actually happened that though has it. That's just a bit of creative writing based on the stereotype of a 35-year old.
Players often don’t fit at teams either through bad luck , being in the wrong place at the wrong time etc Hudds got hung out to dry by having a poor midfield alongside him and a Stoke manager who knew we were sh** it on our right side - still goes on - he put Clucas there to run that side ragged and he did ! We should have spotted it and adjusted in the first twenty or less . Hudds would be fine with two good strong mobile guys with him
If it happens I hope you're right. Haven't seen anything to suggest it yet though and time is running out.
Cant imagine he'll be in the championship next year. Only reason he was this year is because he was cheap, willing to train for free and we already had a whole bunch of players with no championship experience and were under embargo.
Some players don't fit at clubs because they're at last knockings of an impressive career, can no longer cope with physical requirements and are trading on past glories.
Yeah he obviously won’t be with us unless he’s offered some sort of player coach role. I don’t think there’s any questioning his ability but at his age he either needs to be playing at CB, which why would he, or he needs to go elsewhere.
He could still do a job in the lower leagues, maybe he will head home and go to somewhere like Burton or Mansfield. Or just retire.
Suspect unoffcially he was brought in as a player/coach last summer. I have no problem with that, just find it amusing people think it's the same player that was here in his prime. It's just a simple case of a fringe player being perceived to be better the less game-time he plays based on stuff he did half a decade ago.
I've literally seen nothing to suggest he's the answer as far as on-pitch contribution this season is concerned.
You really can't have watched very closely then. Go look back at his games against Bournemouth, Derby, Peterborough, Everton, even the other week when he came on against Luton and soon created our only goal for weeks. He was brilliant in all of those games and you'd have to be trying quite hard not to have seen it.

You definitely seem to watch Tom these days through rose tinted spectacles PLT.
You can't say he was brilliant against Luton when he gave away an awful goal.
He was brilliant vs Derby was he. How many minutes did he play?
And Luton, yeah getting outpaced and clipping their player on the edge of the box that they duly stuck in the top corner. Did I miss his goal or assist in this one? Nope, didn't think so.
Peterboro - 6 minutes. Must've been some 6 minutes to be 'brilliant', Birmingham another 'brilliant' 5.
Totally got stitched for Townsend's against Everton.
To be fair I thought he was good in his half against Cardiff but he was crocked for about 6 weeks after wasn't he?
You've picked the tie I wasn't talking about in almost every case there.
I was talking about Derby at home, his debut off the bench. ****e game but he came on and lit it up. Go look at the match thread on here and see what people were saying at the time. Peterborough I meant the home game too, went off injured but he was incredible before that. Everyone was lauding him at the time but football fans have the shortest of memories. Birmingham I didn't even mention.
It is a boring debate, Shark's right there, but I find it hard to not argue when people lazily say he's old and past it, which I think is ignoring his actual performances and just making up a stereotypical summary based on his age.

Style and accuracy two words that best describe him but I’m afraid not many others in a city shirt these days, “ style and accuracy “ there’s a poem there lolCity fans have always liked the workhorse run all day type , even if they can barely kick the ball once they have it . Don’t get me wrong your team needs these but needs a balance . I think we could accommodate Huddlestone on the pitch a bit more if he has 2 engines Alongside him . Many games this season we have just resorted to hoofing it forward anyway , he at least “hoofs” it with a bit of style and accuracy
Bale saying he’d play for Cardiff and Ozil with us. Interesting championship summer transfer window ahead
He didn’t say it like Bale did was more hypothetically speaking if 2 superstar players joined the championship in one summerWhen did Ozil say that?
