Hang on, what hype? Where has it been suggested he’s the next CR7 or Rivaldo? He’s a highly rated prospect we’re in line to get relatively cheap. Babel would want a lot of money and for a 36 year old winger with an injury hit past and a questionable disciplinary record, would you not rather pay half that for a current 20 year old international who has already spent six months settling in at the club?
From what I’ve seen of Al, he’s direct, he runs with the ball and he heads forward, as opposed to most of our forward players who don’t seem predisposed to play towards the opposition goal. The two games he’s played he’s been put as a number 10, which isn’t his position, he plays as a wide man in a front 3 or as a striker. So from 50 odd minutes of him playing, I don’t think he’s done that badly at all.
If it was a straight up choice between Babel and Allahyar, I’d take the latter everyday of the week.

I don’t know who’s suggesting he’s the next ‘CR7’ <laugh> or Rivaldo?

If he hadn’t have had a single touch of the ball in those 50 minutes he couldn’t have done any worse. There seems to be regular calls for him in the match threads and an air of excitement about him but case in point nobody can come up with a single clip of him even showcasing a decent touch of the ball in a Hull City shirt, let alone making a positive contribution, because he hasn’t done anything yet. Granted, it’s 50 minutes, but I would bet a pound to a pinch of dog **** Babel would have showed a few nice touches, made a few nice passes, maybe tested the keeper once or twice in that time, rather than run around like a headless chicken giving away silly fouls.

Fenerbahce rate him so highly he’s made 3 appearances in 30 months and didn’t get registered for their squad.

So once again I ask what people are basing this opinion of him on. Maybe he must have good stats on video games?

Tbf to Allahyar he had a 10 minute run out, suffered an injury, and has had a few minutes back since .. I dont know how anyone can rate him on that, the lad looks keen enough but as we all know the Englizh leagues are very different to what he will be used to, let's see how he settles first before castigating him.

Im not castigating, or writing him off, all I said is he’s shown absolutely **** all in his minutes on the pitch for anyone to base an opinion of him from, let alone prefer him as a signing over a proven larker who has made it at the very top of the game.

All I asked is what people have seen of him to form such an opinion.

Tell you what, ask Acun or Shota. They signed him/pick him for the squad. I’m sure they’ll give you a good reason why he’s at City and Babel isn’t. When we have the next fans Q and A, pop along and ask that question.

He's also a young 20 year old who's come to a new country and picked up a daft injury. Actually thought he lifted us for the first 10 mins or so when he came on last weekend. He was wasteful but just looked like he was trying to hard, but he's certainly direct, strong and pacey. Pretty impossible to judge him

And the fouls point he keeps making was pure bollocks from the ref who gave him one every time he touched the grass

Why not try Callum Elder into our midfield. He was an all-league player. along with Honeyman last year. Has speed.aggrression, and a wicked shot. Also knows how to tackle.

Hes wasted on the bench,

Hes wasted on the bench,

Personally, I would like to see Jones play in the holding midfield role again, he did well for us last season in that position.

Play Bernard at the back with McLoughlin/Greaves.

Play Wilks, Jones, Slater, Honeyman KLP

Eaves/Smith

I know that is harsh on Smallwood, but I think we have to start looking past him, as I am sure he may well end up at P'Boro.

Smallwood is vital at the moment. They'll be offering him an extension. Whether he's first choice or competing for his place next season will depend on incomings but he very much reminds me of Ashbee in that you really miss him when he's not there.

He'll contribute to the squad next year regardless.

I have to say I have been proved wrong about Smallwood, I don't think he is the future, but he has handled the championship much better than I expected. In fact I would say he has played better this season than last.

I agree, he went through the early parts of this season pretty poorly and even though he still had the odd shocker moment, he’s really pushed himself and I can only say fair play. I enjoy being proved wrong about City, no exception here.

City are allegedly interested in signing Adama Traore in the summer.

Not the Wolves/Barca one, the one that's at Hatayspor and is out of contract in the summer.

Should be half decent Monaco once paid €14m for him.

Or it could be this Adama Traore, who plays for Sheriff Tiraspol and has 16 goals this season from the wing...

Adama Traoré (footballer, born 5 June 1995) - Wikipedia

As the famous chant goes, there's only 3 Adama Traores...

EDIT <laugh> apparently they were at Metz at the same time and were born in the same month in the same city in Mali, so the one we're after had to be known as Adama Traore II.
