Hear a Rumour one of our loan players is off to Cardiff, most likely Longman
Or it's a younger player and they need game time but can't move till their club has numbers in and could possibly have the same impact as Wilson and Campbel did...
On the flip side, when he has been allowed to bring people in, they just haven't been good enough... Wasted loan deals Matty Smith, signings Andy Cannon, George Moncur, Randell Williams.... in fact come to think of it we likely haven't taken up our quote of loan options (correct me if im wrong) and whats the common denominator in the failures!!?Whatever you think of McCann, and he did a fantastic job last year, he was dealt a s**t hand in the January transfer window when we sold Bowen and Grosiski. He is currently in that exact same boat, being asked to deliver championship performances with a predominantly L1 squad, you have got to have some sympathy for him.

Not sure you can say Williams isn't good enough when he was one of the best when he finally came on against Stoke? On the flip side, when he has been allowed to bring people in, they just haven't been good enough... I think he's done a reasonable job when asked to tbh
Oh I agree fully Den.... but the chances to play him have been numerous... and seemingly not in the managers plans...Not sure you can say Williams isn't good enough when he was one of the best when he finally came on against Stoke?

I agree on this because how many of the signings have got in the first team but the only thing I will say is that because of the budget he wasn’t going to get many established championship players so gambled on lower league players hoping they would become good. In hindsight he would have been better bringing in less players but more proven players at this level but then you have a smaller squad. It’s difficult with a low budget. On the flip side, when he has been allowed to bring people in, they just haven't been good enough... I think it's difficult to question the signings personally, they were pretty good considering the budget.
The budget is the problem, not the signings. I think the transfer market is without a doubt one of Grant's biggest strengths, I actually feel it's the only thing keeping us competitive. When you look at what we spent this summer and where the lads had come from I think it's gone pretty well.
Baxter, and Longman have been fantastic, Bernard has done okay as have Tyler and Randell, Moncur and Cannon. It's sort of what it is on the current budget, we've not been helped by injuries either but still have a nice little cushion above the bottom 3
I see the signings as very different to you.
Baxter has been a very good signing and unlike others, have been impressed by Bernard, although his form is patchy.
Everyone else has been in and out of the team so much, its difficult to get a handle on them. As it stands, I don't feel as though any of them were better than what we already had.
