There’s a reason why Man U are off loading. He’s overweight, doesn’t train well and wanders off the required diet. On top if that he struggles with tactical instructions. Great natural talent for someone but the phrase ‘never go back’ springs to mind (for Walcott too in fairness)
That's a little like how I feel about some of the people on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/SaintsWeb saying we should have Nigel Adkins back.
That is sad about Luke. I wouldn't want to speculate about anyone's health, but it makes the way Mourinho bullied him even worse.
'So Mr Sullivan, would you like the opportunity to the piss of West Ham fans one last time before you sell up?'
I bang on about this every time, it's been awful. He doesn't even make the bench because you're only allowed 3 non-Chinese players in the squad including subs. Oh and he's on £250k a week. Probably not going to be for us.
That's a shame to hear. I sympathise on a personal level. On a footballing level we have higher priorities than left back even if Bertrand goes.
Pelle is rotting on a bench in China and can't get into their team, yet some people want him back. ____________________- Nah, people reminisce about his time here. No-one has seriously said they want him back. We did great from that deal, as did he.
Yes I did. Was quoting as I worked through the thread. Wages in both cases surely be an issue for both
Sentiment aside though (and assuming we lose Bertrand to City) would you play Shaw over Targett / McQueen? Walcott would walk straight in to our team of course. And he still applauds us whenever he plays us - as did the Ox on Saturday. Good guys clearly retaining a place in their hearts for Southampton.
Shaw would need work to sort out his head first, but he is worth a gamble. We would probably get him for about £15m-£18m. A sorted Shaw is class
