Had we stayed in the championship it was happening. We could do with him, he might be 34 but he’d be good in this league

My only concern is that he was never pacey .. with age he will have slowed even further .. he couldn't be played in a deep lying position as the way McCann like to play is having 3 in midfield so they all have to put the hard yards in .. he just isn't mobile enough to play in a system like this.

He was never fast in the pl, how many times did he get caught in possession, he’s one of very few players that looked like he could control the ball have a cuppa and pass it. He might have slowed but equally he’s not playing against pl players, first yards in his head.
I think he’d be ok

Haven't seen him play recently but I'd guess he'd be too slow now. Always liable to concede free kicks in dangerous areas because he'd get done for pace.

While Huddlestone is undoubtedly a superb player, even at 34, I'm not sure whose place in the current formation he would take. I'm not sure he has the tackling rate to fulfil the Smallwood/Jones role. And he's definitely not a Honeyman/Docherty player.

Yep. We'd be better with the ball but much worse without it, and it would mess up what balance the midfield has.
