Awesome display in defence for Wales tonight, had to deal with the monsterous Benteke for the last part and although he lost out on one header he did enough to put the beast off. 2 late goalline clearances to boot.

Chessie is my fav City player too so well chuffed for him

Add this to Robertson's performance for Scotland and we should be feeling confident at the back

let`s hope that they bring these performances back to the club, we been shaky all year at the back. Couple this with the return of Dawson and we may start going places again.

Same here TC, Chesters one of the best centre backs in the premier league <ok>

I think that's very harsh. We haven't exactly conceded loads. And we still haven't had a proper beating off anyone since returning to the PL.

Chezzy will be getting an England call up soon.
So annoyed with the England situation and the sad thing is Chester is better than most of the England defenders and we've lost him because of the ****ing clown in charge, nearly put a boot through the TV last night listening to the ITV commentator kissing Hodgson arse all game

Better than Smalling, Chambers and Jones.

Should have been in the England squad 12 months ago but no. Woy knows best.

12 months ago he'd played about 4 games in the PL before missing several weeks with a hamstring injury.

He's one of my favourites too but I was disappointed when I read he'd chosen Wales cos I always hoped he might be England material one day, but he only gave it a year in the PL, a year which was punctuated by serious injuries before choosing Wales instead. He might have had a chance if he'd been more patient.

Unless he really does consider himself welsh and would have picked them all along in which case fair play to him, but somehow I doubt it.

Roy is going to be around for a few years yet (God help us all) so James did the right thing. Watching Smalling and Milner come on as subs last night somes up Hodgson entirely. My Man U supporting mate admits we have better defenders than them, even English ones too

I think it's sad that any player 'chooses' a country based on which one he's got the best chance of playing for, or in the case of better players who are wanted by multiple countries, choosing the one who are more successful. I can't understand the mentality of a player playing for another country.

<laugh> Not with the useless prick currently in control.

His mother is born and bred Welsh. His dad is English.

I dare say if England came calling first he might have chosen them but they never did and whilst that clueless owl faced clown is in charge they never would.

He still has strong Welsh roots and if isn't like half the Irish squad in the 90's who had one Irish grand parent.

Unless you know the bloke and his family you can hardly judge.

What! Half the Irish squad had the same grandparent
