Manager: Brendan Rodgers. Sporting Director: Louis van Gaal. Technical Director: Pep Segura....Would be happy if this turns out to be the team!

Not being a WUM I don't think it's a good move... Of course it's just my opinion but it's not who you needed, Martinez and Rodgers are not the calibre Liverpool need, for me, it should have been Rafa all day long.

Im sure someone will have a go at me, but the Liverpool team are not as good as Swansea for passing / keep-ball, in fact, the only way i'll believe Rodgers is the right man, is if he ships out;

Carragher
Johnson (or puts him RW as he is useless in defense)
Spearing
Downing
Henderson
Carroll
Kuyt
Maxi
Bellamy

Replace that lot with some exciting players, and you'll do well, but with the same set of players, you will not be anywhere near the top 6 next season.

Clueless <doh>

So, instead of just a one word answer, how about a constructive discussion telling me why I am supposedly 'clueless'

Just go away and have a look at Maxi pass success rate just for starters and that might give you a clue!!!

Whilst I kinda agree, I often wondered why Maxi wasn't played last season much under KD and when he did you tended to do well, so maybe that player is one I might give you as a fair argument against (although you do have to ask, why didn't KD persist in playing him?)

You just threw a list of names at us without any explaination as to their faults. You also say we're not as good at passing as Swansea or at keeping the ball. Lastly, you said that Rodgers isn't of the calibre needed for Liverpool.

Those three points are what makes you either a WUM or clueless (poorly informed or media influenced, if you prefer).

Firstly, watch any of our games from last season and you'll see we dominate the vast majority of the games we played. Regularly seeing 60% possession and wiping teams like Arsenal, City, United and Chelsea off the pitch with possession football. Hence, either media influenced having not watched us play.

Secondly, people who criticise Johnson again clearly aren't watching him play this year. He's been more than fine. Stop listening to the media bull****. It's old.
Spearing is not half as bad as people make out. Not top quality, but not dire. He's an average midfielder. Does his job. Does some things well. Others not so well. He showed in Kenny's first few months that he CAN play possession football (him+Lucas were great in the centre).
Henderson again, not top quality (yet) but not bad. He's got a bright future and has showed alot of promise. He, of most people in our team, keeps the ball very well. Are you sure you know what you're talking about?
Carroll lately is rarely wasteful with the ball, even when it's lumped up to him. He keeps it well and finds another player more often than not.
Maxi, Kuyt and Bellamy I don't even need to discuss. They're very effective at quick ball passing with Suarez as shown all year.

Carra and Downing. Carra needs replacing. You'd be hard pushed to find anyone who'd disagree. Downing could be good, but needs confidence badly. The Carling cup final showed what he can do, he needs a manager to bring that out of him in every game.

Now to Rodgers. All managers need their 'break'. He has massive potential, has the right approach to attractive football, young, highly rated from people such as Mourinho, encourages confidence in passing and movement, makes 'mediocre' players into a really strong 'team'. Etc etc. I'm confident in him to do well here.
Is that better?

Not going to slate you SeanyK just disagree with you.

1) I believe he is going to be part of a new slightly different management team. He may get more control than speculated but not as much as a traditional manager role IMO.

2) same squad under KD showed they can play pass & move possession football. I'd suggest BR will maybe take some of the furvor out of this same style, more patient which I believe will restore self confidence in some of last years buys. His man management will get them believing in their abilities (even if they not world class)

3) he will bring new energy & favours modern training techniques & philosophies; this can only enhance individually what this team already knows.

4) half your list are being phased out due to age. If they're not gone in the summer, they'll have an even more limited role than this year.

Do I think he'll magically make us contenders between now & September? Anythings possible but if you've visited our board often enough you'll see no one expects instant success.

He's part of a new model that in parts has seen good success on the continent. Will it work here? With a team made up of premiership experienced players that during our worst season in years still made top 8! I'll think he'll do grand. And that's without the additional players he'll add over the next 3 years....

Yes you 'Done' are 50 million passes in your own half. High possession rates, few goals really boring boring boring football...I am still not sure what was wrong with KK for heavens sake.

Who is going to buy Caroline now!
I think you'll find we had more possession in the opposition final third than any other team in the league this season as well as being amongst the top chances created <doh>

It seems to be that Carroll, Adam Carragher could all be surplus to requirements. All not great at playing the ball along the floor, but i am looking forward to next season under him
