The BBC's Midlands Football Reporter Pat Murphy reports Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to be confirmed as the new Liverpool manager in the next 48 hours. The clubs are understood to be discussing compensation now.

Gotta be a bigger name then for DofF? Maybe it will be Van Gaal as he said Liverpool would make an announcement this week?

Wasn't/Isn't LvG lined up to fill a "Sporting Director" role and not a DoF? DoF now not being filed (yet) because they wanted (maybe all along) Martinez to fill that role?
I guess all will be known soon enough.

If there is to be no DoF then I expect more changes to be announced over the coming days. I will totally accept that Rodgers is a fine coach and tactician but he has no experience whatsoever of recruiting the kind of players that Liverpool will be looking for or handling the kind of budgets that will be required. He will need help in these areas as the job is just too big for one man to cope with.

i'll wait and see... some pat muprhy fella aint quite fsg standing at anfield holding a scarf with the guy.

Don't much mind and won't go mad about anything until they decide what the full structure is.
