He did, however he was at a club seen as plucky, punching above their weight, courageous etc..... blah blah blah; not sure he will be afforded the same good feeling now he is if as expected at Liverpool. Will be interesting if he can keep the same calm nature under huge pressure, remember he was under no pressure at all last season and was one of the media's darlings because of the romantic story.

Excactly.

At Swansea, a draw would be considered as a good result. The interviewer would be praising his side for the point and hanging in.

At Liverpool, a draw is considered a poor result. The interviewer would start by asking what when wrong etc - more negative tone.

Well Swansea finished five points off us. With players like Gerrard, Suarez, Lucas etc and a few newbies, imagine what he could achieve.

Dont forget the back 4 and keeper.

The most important thing for Rogers to do first is gain the players support and respect, as Dalglish was very much loved as a manager.

Not doubting his ability mate, I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with us.

Jsut highlighting the point that the media were very kind to him because he was at a smaller club, and that there is a lot more pressure on managers at bigger clubs.

Well Liverpool will be fine then.

If this goes through, you guys are heading for a fantastic season. As someone has already said, we finished 5 points off you with only one or two star players (which you're not welcome to, by the way!), but you have a team of really good players for the most part.

A real loss for us, but I'd wish him well. Good luck guys.

Swansea fans, what systems does Rogers like?

And if you know are players well enough, what kind of 11 can we expect?

I'm thinking Henderson's days on right wing are over.

Every single top class manager started out by building something smaller up, being a number two somewhere, a translator, a youth coach, etc. Where did Shankly come from again? Exactly. Did Rafa just happen up Valencia or wait for it, coaching in the second division!

Give the man a chance, he plays the right way, has the right philosophies in what he wants to do. If appointed let's see who he buys ( or DofF) and hope for the best, something fresh and a new start.

If its true then I am right behind him and wish him all the best, to be honest I think he is a better appointment than Martinez would have been. Still would have liked Rafa back and will admit I thought it would be AVB but Rodgers is a good manager no doubt about it, lets just hope we give him some time and let him make some inevitable mistakes and learn from them!

Ayre's said world class' and we get Rodgers.

So THAT'S why you're in a bad mood!

At least let him have one game before we can group together a Rodgers Must die group.

We really are a bunch of grumpy feckers; always someone seeing the mess and not the sex! Lol

There was a MOTD3 link posted on an earlier page ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLFQODf8SpE ) and it's well worth a watch if you haven't done already.

I do like the look of Rodgers. He has the right philosphy towards football and believes English (well, British) players can play at the same level as the Spanish through the right training and coaching. He encourages confidence towards keeping the ball and passing it well (we have alot of confidence players imo, Downing, Carroll, Henderson, Adam) who he might be able to bring the most of out. He's learned his trade abroad over many years, despite being so young, and brings alot of continental techniques with him. His vision for Swansea was to make them sustainable (which is what our owners want). He also speaks fluent Spanish!

The more I read up on him, the more I'm confident he'd be a great choice IF WE GIVE HIM TIME. He needs time and patience from the fans and the board to get the team working the way he wants but I expect him to sign at least 3/4 players (not from Swansea though, I don't think) to ease the transition into a new system, not just try to pigeon hole our current squad into a new style.

I'd be more than happy with him and I'm still backing LVG to get a sporting director's role to help out with the bigger picture whilst Rodgers eases into the role. Might also help with bigger signings, but tbh, I'm not concerned with buying big names if he can get Swansea (no offence) playing the way they did with their team. Imagine what he'd do with Gerrard/Lucas/Suarez...

He also speaks Italian so can tell AC Milan they're dirty cheating scroungers & it'll not be blamed on translation.

Also the Spanish might have been handy in a certain referees dressing room ;)........
