He does everything I thought people were complaining about with AVB. The football's dull, constantly rotates the squad, makes strange subs and gets questionable results.

Personally I don't want him because of the unimaginative football, his recent record's not all that and he's always talking crap in the media. He's cracked up on several other occasions and lashed out like Keegan with the exact same consequences. We all laughed at him when halfway through the season he promised to finish top 4 and ended up 6th(?), he also ranted at Fergie before gifting him the title and complained about life at Inter whilst destroying the team that won the treble the season before.

We would be better off staying with Avb until the end of the year then being swayed into bringing in capello or Rafa, neither are right for this club and at worst we would finish top 7 with Avb so bringing in the right man is more important then just making a change for the sake of change.

Same as Rafa really OS, not top of my list but I'd have him over AVB.

I was starting to wonder if Capello would be a name thrown about as a potential candidate to take over should AVB be moved on, no doubt Baldini would (or has?) have put a good word in.

Laudrup would be a gamble he's obviously a great guy and has a touch of class, world class player and doing a fab job with Swansea but remember Hoddle was doing a great job with Southampton, some managers, especially great ex players are better suited to smaller clubs.

I think he judges games very well and would give us the tactical flexibility we need. I've been nothing but impressed with him so far and think he'd do great things with our squad.

Completely agree.

Laudrop and Hiddink would definitely be my standout choices and I'd be chuffed if we got one of them.

Though I do think De Boer would also be a good fit for us, despite his lack of managerial experience.

Also I think he must be able to speak about 15 different languages by now so should be alright with getting instructions to our new players

As I said elsewhere, for all the success that Capello has had in Italy he doesn't receive anything more than grudging respect from the press or the fans, and the likes of Lippi and Ancelotti are certainly more loved by neutrals than he is.

What Capello did best at Factitious is he broke up the dressing room clique - Ronaldo was loaned to Milan in the ten minutes he wasn't too fat or injured to be a viable acquisition, Roberto Carlos was told his contract wouldn't be renewed, and all of a sudden Raul stopped kicking up a fuss. Not much use for us, but would've been a good manager for Chelsea a couple of seasons back.

All this speculation about AVB and believe it or not we are 3 points better off than at the same stage last season having already played 3 of last season`s top four (two of which away from home), and are through to the knock out stages of the Europa and quarter final of the League Cup.

I know the football has not been as good as what we have been used to (any surprise when Levy sells our best players every summer), and many players are finding their way, under performing / struggling with formations etc, but it is not all that bad when you look at the whole picture.

We were awful against City but there was nothing wrong with the performance or effort against Newcastle, we were unlucky and ran into a goalkeeper having the best game of his career, it was a game we would have won at least 3 or 4 on another day.

AVB needs to be given more time, unless he is losing the dressing room in which case he needs to go. The next few games will be interesting and should tell us whether the players are playing for their manager.

I'm not disputing Capello was/is one of the most respected and important managers of his era. He can point to his success as a coach and stand next to anyone. With a stool! But sure, he just isn't what this club needs.

I cannot believe that we are having a debate about whether or not we should be happy for Benitez to join the club!

Can you truly not remember how much of a clown he became at 'Pool during his last months at that club?

Yes, I think he probably would be a step up from AVB, but, at the moment, that really is not saying very much.

As has been pointed out many, many times before, Klinsmann has made it absolutely clear that he will not leave the USA. His family love it, there.
