I think...and this really is a wild guess but before phelan got the job I think we spoke to Warnock about it.
This is the bit I put 2+2 together and probably came up with 5 but.....
Whilst he was doing talksport with Brazil at the time just before phelan got the job Warnock was asked if he had anything lined up regarding getting back into management. He said "he'd spoken to 3 clubs, one went with a foreign manager, one went with another English manager and the other haven't got a clue what they are doing!" I remember thinking that's got to be us.
Surely he will because the totally unbiased sleuths on here deduced that Zohore going to another club must prove that our bid for him was genuine and Warnock was lying, and pre-emptively poured scorn on those who wouldn't agree.
I don't think he will demand a retraction for quoting what he said. Do you?
