pretty sure any ings signing would have been done at the same time as vvd, whilst we had the upper hand

Waiting for the call to return. He spends his days standing around the same phone as Nicky Banger and Dexter Blackstock waiting for it to ring.

Signing nobody and not sacking the manager. Isn’t that what we are doing?

While I get the need to sign someone to improve the team is the desire of many fans here, including me, I do think we should be demanding a lot more from the players and manager, in terms of putting in a shift, playing with more mobility and intelligence in order to get away from the relegation zone that are already here. Replying to your point, not taking a decision could cost the club big time.

On another issue LTT, I was reading comments in the News from PFC fans today and surprisingly very polite as they have a great admiration for the SFC academy and so on. However someone alluded to the idea that money was being taken out of the club, SFC, to pay off the Liebherr family. If this is so, what has happened to the club's finances? I would have thought with average gates of around 30,000 plus TV revenue and other streams of income there would have been no need to borrow from the previous owner, or indeed the present one. Surely the club are not in a financial pickle?

The manager should be inspiring the players tactically and psychologically to play better. That’s where he’s failing horribly. With this squad, even as it is with no additions, and a decent manager, I would have no worries about relegation in the slightest.

Something is tactically and psychologically wrong with the team and staff. My concern is that a couple of signings won’t provide the turn around we need.
In the past we’ve said “a couple of signings away from a top 6 club”. Right now, to me, it doesn’t feel like that will do it.

Laces’ point was that the problem lies with the manager, not the squad. I agree with him, in that even if we sign nobody this window (I’m not advocating that by the way), a new manager that can inspire and motivate the team will work wonders. On the other hand, if we sign a couple of new players and keep Pellegrino, I can’t see us climbing the table very quickly.

To grasp a red herring firmly by the tail. Is Danny Ings from Netley? Wiki says he was born in Winchester.
Interested as I was brung up there

btw Why sell JRod and then buy Ings? I don't see it
(Not that selling JRod and buying no-one is any better)

Absolutely. General gist of above is "no thanks" but surely if there was any interest, it would have been done with VD.
