Sure this has been a topic before, but if we managed to reach the final are we banned from next seasons europa due to financial fair play rules or something?
Not sure if that's good or not, obviously being in Europe would be incredible for a club like ours but it would be an unwelcome distraction from trying to stay in the prem next season as well.
We probably won't win it, but if we get in the final against either Man City/ Arsenal don't we qualify since they'll finish top 4?
I would rather miss out in Europe and be banned from it.
The squad isn't ready for it, and a European campaign always seems to mess up your league form.
We can't be fussy. We might never have a chance to play in Europe again. Without wanting to sounds negative there's a strong possibility we'll get relegated next year so we really should be desperate to take any opportunity to get into Europe. It'd be amazing to see City play in Europe. Imagine thousands of us piling on the ferry to go to Holland/Belgium. It'd be ace.
Bloody hell, is Erik on your profile?
Allam thinks if we stay up once then we won't need to improve the team to do it again.
We need to get Livermore on a perm at the end of the season....so that means spending some money?
I do think SB has spent the summer budget already (Long & Jela) ..but that was good business. I reckon SB will make good use of the loan/free tansfer market again in the summer.

I'm not sure there is much of a free transfer market in the PL is there?

Sorry but it's the way I see it. Second seasons are always hard but the comments from within the club worry me. Allam thinks if we stay up once then we won't need to improve the team to do it again. I'm also convinced that if we look in danger of being in the bottom 5-6 he'll sack Bruce. He won't be able to understand why we'd go backwards. Hope I'm wrong but it seems likely. We can't realistically improve much on where we are now. Look at Swansea who have a better squad than us, keep the ball brilliantly and have a few goalscorers yet for some reason they can't get into the top half. This league is too strong for the lesser teams to be able to guarantee continuing improvement year on year and owners think that's failure.
And PLT is right, AA's got it into his head that only the first season is difficult, once you get through that, he thinks it's easy to stay up.
People seem to be forgetting the only man who Allam seems to listen to, Steve Bruce, will let him know otherwise.
