Yep, that's a lazy ridiculous statement from Merson alright, whilst simultaneously disrespecting our results and the rest of the team that you would assume he knows something about, being an expert! t**t.

Going to keep doing it now until we lose. I spend more time wondering why the **** he gets paid as a pundit than reading anything he writes nowadays.

I won't pay any notice to what Merson says. Saw him recently at a sportsman diner, lots of funny talk about getting pissed with Gazza at the boro and spent all his time on his phone placing bets. He must have lost a serious amount of money.

I don't know all the facts...won't insult Hull by pretending to know how good they are, but I do know how good we are. Hull must be impressive if they have a midfield including players as good as Davis, Schneiderlin, and Tadic. The fact is that Pelle is a Saints player and not a Hull player...you could go through all the teams and pick out a player who is central to their success.

on his day huddlestone is quality. don't know much more than that.

Hull have done better recently. No, they are not pulling up trees, but look who they've played. We underestimate them at our peril.

Doesn't mean to say we're not going to win though. :)

We threw away wins against Arsenal, West Ham, and Newcastle by conceding late goals after leading 2-1. Thats been a problem all season as Brucie tends to take off a striker for an extra defender when leading late in the game and we put our goal under continuous pressure. If we'd held all our leads we'd be up there with you. Ramirez won't be playing thank goodness as he's been a waste of space and appears clueless when breaking on goal. No pace and easily knocked off the ball.

This reminds me of the story of 'The Emporor's New Clothes'. Many Southampton fans wanted so much for Ramirez to be the brilliant player he was touted to be and as such, they constantly ignored the evidence of their own eyes. Every week there was a new reason why he hadn't quite performed and those of us who didn't see his genius were deemed footballing idiots.

Of course he has skill and even flashes of brilliance, but he has consistently failed to translate that into being a good footballer.

I was always baffled by the idea that he was thinking too far ahead of our other less skilful players...that was an argument for the first few weeks, but not after that. All our players work hard and want to be better...I can only assume he is happy with how he plays and isn't prepared to change. I don't think the EPL is for him. A shame.

Just shown chart on Sky that shows Forster is the leading keeper with regards to clean sheets and shots to stops ratio....though the former reflects the defence in general. Now I have to admit that I was having a bit of a wobble about Forster. I think it is because he doesn't dominate in a crowded penalty area the way Schmeichel and Niemi did. But on the other hand, Hart flaps as well, so it may be a case of expecting the impossible...no errors at all.

No easy games in PL (cough, except Underland,). Hull are not a great side but can defend, Saints can defend and are scoring. I predict a tight game Saints snatching it 0-1 Pelle to score 57th minute.
