Hull Fair

1) While walking from the Avenue pub towards the ground we encountered Police and Stewards barring our access along Walton Street onto the car park area while the Hull Fair was being erected. Maybe they were worried about our safety.

2) On the way from the ground towards Chants there were no restriction and we were all allowed to roam around the car park at will.

What a waste of manpower used in 1)

Anyway at least on my leaving the ground it did allow me to make my one and only annual visit to Hull Fair.

That's because before the game they've nothing much to do so indulge themselves in a bit of control freakery to justify the overtime they are costing the club and the ratepayer. And because they can and enjoy it.
Afterwards they just want to get home. They don't seem bothered about any chaos then. Which is why after all the fuss being made in making people walk around the ground because of the fence you get on to the car park and mingle with all the away fans they are supposed have been keeping you apart from.

The one good thing about the fair is the various foodstuffs available.

I just hope and pray to see the ultimate irony in headline form in HDM - Hull Fair cancelled due to cable theft!!

Even my nine year old son thinks it's **** . They are not his exact words , his words were " It's pointless ".

He refuses to spend any money at the kack hole. He gets money from his grandparents to spend at the fair and he comes back with the same amount he goes with. He has done for the last two years and can't see this year being any different .
Even at his age he realises just how turd it is .

I'm seemingly odd, but I quite enjoy a wander round savouring the smells, noise and lights and watching people having fun.
