A lot of people in Hull are the same at elections, both locally and nationally. They must all be happy with both Hull Council and the present government if they don't vote at the next elections presumably.
I think you misunderstand. I'm saying that there are other, possibly better, ways to guage opinion than simply running a poll/ballot/referendum. A simple vote on it's own doesn't really count as consultation.
Given the fuss on both sides of the argument, it clearly isn't just a name, it represents far more than that. Saying it's just a name, really crumbles the "will bring in income" argument to dust.
I didn't think there was a "will bring in income" argument according to all the marketing experts on here? As far as I'm concerned, it's just a bloody name. There are more important things in life. Worse things happen, like losing a quid on a scratch card for example.
I have something called a mobile phone, here... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_phone You should try one out, there's countless benefits. Not only does it give you the opportunity to freely surf the World Wide Web, whenever, wherever, it also enables you to contact and be contacted whenever, wherever. It's an essential life tool for any civilised modern human being.
? And what has that got to do with your "There are more important things in life" As said before you must see this board as pretty important part of your life, As all you do all day is post on it! And posting on something you dont even care about? (ohhh the irony) As you say "There are more important things in life"
What a load of old guff that HDM poll is. Less than 3500 people voted for a start. How many are true fans ? WOW. 3000 say No. 69%+ dont want a name change. Hardly a shocker is it ? 61% say they will still go if the club do change the name. Pity the HDM cannot give us some news on how our long term injured are doing as an example. What is the latest re. Quinn Dudgeon and Aluko ? Lazy lazy paper. What i would like to know is how many fans have actually sent back/handed in there season card since Allam offered a pro-rata refund ? Not many by all accounts. Says it all when you come right down to it.
It tells you nothing at all, do you seriously think I'm going to let some mad old duffer tell me if I can support my team or not?
The only important question is what weight will the FA give it. 604 vote for Hull Tigers and Hull City Tigers out of 100,000. We may all speculate on why the yes vote was so small but the clue is in the comments. We want to stay Hull City but..... Its not an overwhelming endorsement. It would be interesting to see the split between Hull City Tigers (not on offer) and Hull Tigers (what the application asks for).
Of course it doesn't - they've paid for their season passes; they're still watching their team - City; and they can avoid giving penny one to the Doctator. You are slow......
Its not full for PL games this season. So taking that into account are you concluding the name change will actually increase attendance?
http://espnfc.com/stats/attendance/_/league/eng.1/barclays-premier-league?cc=5739 Not doing too bad attendance wise. But the name change isn't about increasing attendances.
There's still an average of 1,000 empty seats at each game. And the name change is allegedly about increasing revenue, so selling another 1,000 seats per game might be a good start. As would stocking the club shop with half decent merchandise and getting decent sponsorship deals.
Nope, it's to make club merchandise more attractive to general run of the mill customers in general run of the mill stores across the globe.
HDM or more commonly referred to on this site as the FAIL, a newspaper regarded by most as lazy and inaccurate can't suddenly become the font of all that's footy can it? Or is all forgiven because it produces a poll, no matter how badly worded, that supports the anti change cause.
No. Not many have which is the point i make. The team and success on the pitch and staying in the PL is all that matters when all is said and done. Whoooosh.............................. Get an adult to explain what is going on to you.
