A minimal response to the HDM poll, c15% of 'city attendees'. Whether the balance don't read the HDM, don't care or have no issue with the name change is purely conjecture. I suspect (rightly or wrongly) that if such a poll was responded to by a higher number of attendees the percentage of objectors to the name change would reduce? So on balance it provides an insight, no more, no less. I for one would not see these poll results creating enough of an objection for The FA to NOT approve any proposed name change come next April.
For me the club should include their own poll within the early season ticket reminders for 14/15 that will be issued over the coming months, offering an opportunity to respond via email or questionnaire to questions determined both by the club, CTID, and supporters not opposed to the name change to gauge a balanced view. If Allam bought into such a process now it would remove the immediate 'distraction' from match days, demonstrate a considered approach to the issue, and on the basis the name change did go ahead, could provide some accurate data to assist any possible re branding, or adjustment to the existing strategy being adopted by Allam. Unfortunately people don't like change, but such an approach could potentially get more supporters 'engaged' than at present
