First half I thought we held them very comfortably and had a real structure to the set up. The subs t HT undid all that good work. Coyle looked infinitely better on the left, I dont think Drameh did anything wrong on the right and whilst Puerta wasn't the bee he has ben in recent games he still forced them back and then back again to their keeper. Moving Alzate into Puertas spot didnt work, where in his 'seri' role he looked composed and actually made one or two things happen. On reflection, I think that part of the backs to the wall issue we were left with was as much to do with substitutions as anything. Did anyone hear why Puerta and Drameh were subbed..?

I’ll have to disagree with this I’m afraid - we were getting done in our CDM for the last 10 minutes of the half and I think Puerta going off for Simons did make a bit of sense. I suspect Giles was brought in to make up for the loss in creativity the midfield will have suffered as a result. Sadly the game did pass Simons by a bit but I could understand the reasoning.

I’ve been sticking up for Kamara but this is a really poor look. Although with the abuse he’s been getting all season, I hardly blame him

What a bellend

As i said earlier

Hes just dumb
Mostly thin air between his ears

Against TWS, instead of lining up with one striker that really doesn’t have the attributes to play the lone striker role, a striker on one wing, a central midfielder on the other wing, full backs that look like they’d make much better wing backs. Surely it would make sense to go with a 5-3-2 where everyone can play their natural role?

2 managers this season have used this same 4-5-1 system with slightly different approaches and it’s hardly worked for either, and particularly now we have no wingers performing at any kind of level to be playing championship football it’s just lunacy to carry on trying to use something we don’t have, handicapping our best striker in the process.

Or a diamond, or 4-2-2-2. Longman’s out for a few weeks and Kamara is like playing with 10 men against 12.

Coyle, Jones and other senior members of the squad should be making it crystal clear to kamara that what he did tonight was utterly and totally unacceptable. Sometimes a manager doesn't need to say anything and just let the squad deal with it internally. I've seen it happen a fair few times before and things can be made very uncomfortable for players when they let the team down last that to make it crystal clear, the times I saw it happen, the player never did it again.

The goal is probably more Coyle’s fault. Why was he so tucked in pretty much marking Jones?

Then we'll agree to disagree Drew... I do appreciate that fatigue had a lot to do with it, I said as much earlier in this thread... however, Puerta was driving them back and I can only hope that he came in and said boss im knackered, because I cant see that hooking him did us any favours. As for Drameh being hooked, for me he was having one of his better games. Strange decisions for me.

Drameh been given a 5 in hdm ratings.....I thought he had a decent 45 too

The only reasons we have a chance this season are because we have a good goalkeeper and a couple of decent centre backs who can defend the box which now means we can stay in games and try knicking them late on. We’ve also seemingly got a couple of tidy midfielders in Puerta & Alzate who are half decent. We won’t score many but we do seem organised and won’t let many in.

We obviously need to improve both wings, striker and a left back but that’ll be difficult to do all in a month so I think it’ll be a lot like today for the rest of the season, particularly against the stronger sides.
