Put simply! am i missing something with this guy, his long range passing is sometimes prem standard, but other than that, what does the guy actually bring! ...i feel he sometimes holds the ball up well, but then fails to unlock anyone, just a big kick over to the wingers, which are often off target! ....if he doesn't attack, he equally does't track back very well either! ...his shooting is woeful! And so are his corners! ...at least when bullard played, he brought something!

i always think he'll bring a good game today, but it never happens!

His passing range is exactly why we can't afford to leave him out. While he's been very inconsistent this season, he's the only one who can find a pass when it looks like there's nothing on. He's not a showboater or a fancy winger, he's a midfielder with a simple job of pinging the ball to players in space. His shooting is alright, but with Diame playing next to him, he doesn't have the licence to get forward (as we saw in the FA Cup semi final) so we won't see that side of his game as much.

If we leave him out, which other midfielder do we bring in to play CM? Quinn? He's hardly a passer and really is more of a wide player. Meyler is a big bag of **** (Liverpool at home last season aside, I don't think I've seen him make a solid contribution since) and Ramirez is too attack minded (not to mention lightweight) to sit in the holding midfield role.

It was said a lot last season, that when Tom has a bad game, the whole team does, such is his influence on how we play. Everything goes through him, so if the opposition take him out of the game (as Burnley did with Diame), we're effectively stifled. That can be rectified by changing our tactics during the game, or by routing the play elsewhere.

Bullard was a decent larker, but he's never in the same league as Huddlestone. Hell, he isn't even the same ****ing sport.

i really don't agree

huddlestone, he doesn't dominate any games.. a passer of the ball? he is skilled at that.. but seriously, he's playing like tom cairney did recently.. i'd drop him and livermore and get ramirez in there.. huddlestone seemes to be overated... this so called passing genius.. where is it? seriously someone highlight to me where it is? you can't.. id rather have jedinak.. huddlestone has been average as f**... he was this all start guy we signed last year so ofcourse no criticism can be afforded.. but he offers nothing special

and i analyse games thoroughly, he just is not this effective player... he has the talent yes, but there's a reason he's gone from spurs and england international to city and no internationals.. he's just not good enough..
people seem to rate him if he makes a few decent passes.. any professional footballer can do that.. but he just doesn't have an effect on games.. even ****ing marney had more of an impact, nevermind jedinak more than twice.. but ofcourse im a negative **** who doesn't appreciate where we came from and when we had richard hinds and marc joseph

also id play dawson and chester in a central two..

Huddlestone has been below par but it seems to me you don't understand the role he plays in the team and to be honest your post looks as if it was written by somebody half-cut

i do understand it.. why would you say i don't? i just honestly take away the name and price tag.. see how can i criticize huddlestone without some professional software on this forum?

okay bojack TELL me why you think he's so effective in our side?
 
There is no movement from him! The best game i saw him have, where i thought he deserved all.the hype was against Fulham! when bullard was fit, he was alot better than Huddlestone!

We do undestand the role he plays, but our passing and creativity has been crap all season, so yeah bring in meyler! Might aswell!

you seem to have bought into the hype surrounding him bojack, we looked better against burnley when he came off!

What people seem to miss about him is his defensive work. He makes a lot of tackles without having to slide and foul people all the time, like a lot of holding midfielders do.

I keep trotting this stat out but it's appropriate once again; he made more tackles than any other City player last season.
 
I wouldn't see he needs to be dropped, but him and jake in the middle together are a ****ing liability. Drop one of them and play ben arfa or ramirez slightly further up.

Davies has been way off as well just like Huddlestone this year. Losing Dawson and Jelavic when we did was a real blow. Huddlestone has been below average this year. He is just so slow in possession and going forward. Livermore has dropped off too. His passing has been abysmal this year.

But he's been fouling quite a lot, he could easily have been sent off for clumsy challenges this season. So that's a reason to drop him not to keep him in. And maybe it would give some a kick up the backside as well, same with Livermore.
 
He tackles alot but thats his only main job, thats like saying jelavic shoots alot, he brings nothing else to the table though, doesn't pressure, doesn't close his man down!

im not saying he's a bad player, i think he is capable of alot more and we are not getting that, he either needs a rest, a rocket up his backside or to join a club that he wants to be with! ..there is something wrong with him and I agree with the person who said livermore and huddlestone should not be in the same team, just like aluko should not be up front with hernandez!...
 
Huddlestone's a joy to watch, he was crap on Saturday(who wasn't?) and he was much better in the first half against Southampton that he was in the second, but he was good in the Arsenal and Liverpool games. He's one of the best players at the club and this 'doesn't want to be here' stuff is utter bollocks, he never looks like he's not trying.

Before we lost Jelavic everyone thought we were doing well, the issue we have is a lack of strikers, not the quality of our midfield.
 
Huddlestone apart from Saturday probably hasn't played as yet as well as the first half of last season, but he hasn't been bad. I am sure if he was played a bit further forward, then we would see him being more effective, but the system we are playing isn't allowing this.
 
I think Huddlestone has been one of our best players (barring saturday) for weeks, I don't think people realise the work he puts in and the job he does for the team. He's not going to burst up the bitch running at people like some people expect, he's a holding midfielder and he's excellent at it.

A good few of the ones who massively criticise him on here are coincidentally ones who go to very few games.
 
What im saying is Huddlestone & livermore should not be in the same team, they dont compliment each other at all! ...it surpises me that bruce think they still work in the same XI...id much prefer to see huddlestone behind diame and ben arfa or even ince, i dont understamd why bruce felt ince was deserved less of a chance than livermore, i dont need to train or need some gym equipment! I can see with my own eyes that Ince looked as fit as livermore!

Bad timing for this international break. When ya play **** or lose a game, you always want the next game asap to try and put things right. Hard work on the training ground for 2 weeks though so all good
