Not at all. puts north east football in the spotlight for a bit. Better there than Manchester or London imo.

Puts Sunderland in the spotlight.
It doesn't put us in the spotlight by any stretch of the imagination.

For anyone who thinks it does, I hope they are at SJP on 1st Feb to see the gloating.
It wont be pretty from them you can guarantee that.

Tell you what Heed, it's taken a bit of the fear out of the derby. Not saying that I think we'll win, but if we lose it won't hurt as much with a final still to come.

So it should Sid, tbf the way you played tonight it will be a lot closer game than some of us think.
I've changed my mind on a few of your players, Borini is starting to look a decent player.

You'll need to take things easy and save yourselves for Wembley.

Have they won it ???

If they do go on and win it then I can understand
But at present all they are going to do is go down and make up the numbers

Voice of reason.
You're right, the only thing they can gloat about is getting to Wembley to play probably the best free scoring team ever seen in English football.
Big difference between getting there and winning it.

I might go down to the smoke and watch a gig does not mean I am going to be invited to collect a Brit pop award for whoever I go and see if they were nominated.

I think the Makems might sneak it at Wembley who knows what'll happen in a one off… Hope they lose 5-0 but if they win they win. Could they possibly be the first team to reach a league cup final and get relegated in the same season…twice?

We should be more concerned with our distinct lack of ambition when it comes to the cups…. surely we have a enough about us at this stage of the season to maintain our league position and have a proper go in the Cup, obviously not...

I do not think you should all write Manchester City off just yet after all they have won two of their last eight games against Sunderland so I still think it is worth them turning up
