I liked the first couple of Saws. Interesting concept I thought.
Yeah maybe the first one was okay, because it was an original idea I suppose.
But as usual with horror franchises, they have to ruin it with a dozen sequels, all with ever diminishing quality

Or the other irritating as **** trope of When the killer breaks in to your house, instead of running outside into the street and screaming your head off to alert your neighbours, and call the police, you run upstairs and get cornered so the killer can kill you <doh>

Or go downstairs alone cos you’ve heard a noise, despite the fact there’s a serial killer on the loose and all your lights suddenly aren’t working!

But, **** it, I’ll go down on my own, in the dark, to see what that noise was!

The last Shift is a nice little film where a rookie cop is sent to keep watch over the cop shop on its last night before closing. It's a slow burner with plenty of psychological twists

They're not horror films but there isn't a thread about monkey films...I like Planet of the Apes. All of them. Even the crappy, cheaply made 70's sequels.

There's something about monkeys taking over the planet and learning to talk that I just like.

When Ceaser talks for the first time...epic

NO!!!

I like the original Apes films aswell.
Not too keen on any of the remakes.
But the original 70's ones with Charlton Heston and Roddie MacDowell are pretty good.

I think the new ones are amazing
The Mark Wahlberg one was terrible.
The newer ones, I have only seen the first one, and it was okay, I guess. But I think there are like 3 of them in that series now, I havent seen any of the sequels.
I just prefer the originals I guess.

That's true, the Wahlberg one wasn't very good, mainly because he was in it.

Quite liked the first Paranormal Activity.

I think because it seemed realistic due to being shot as a "found footage" movie and the sheer fact it's more eery than scary just made it quite a unique movie. Was done on a really small budget which I thought was impressive, unfortunately it's been ruined now with all the ****ty sequels.

That seems to be a big problem in the horror genre, they can never just stop.
But as with the ****ing god awful ******ed Transformers movies, if they keep making money, they will keep greenlighting sequels, until the diminishing return gets so diminished that it stops making cash.
