I use to drive into the centre of London many years ago, wouldn't do it these days, why...way too many speed cameras going into it, too much cctv once in it, waiting to issue you with a PCN for some minor misdeameanor, costs a fortune to park, that's if you can find somewhere to park, and after all that they give you a congestion charge for having the privilage.
I never have those problems I go in by train In the seventies I worked in London and used to take half an hour to drive to work, takes that long to get to the North Circular now and a couple of hours to get to anywhere in London Biggest problems were during the three day week, imagine driving in the winter with no street light or traffic lights and everyones temperature at boiling point Thank goodness for Maggie, she sorted the union out
Urban Tandoor is good. Get a free main if you do the ice bucket challenge aswell, lob it over your son. I think Nutmeg is better for curry but seems mixed between people I know which is better. Not even heard of Don Giovanni, where is it? Depending where you are Chris and Jos kitchen is banging, but can take a while as it’s small and literally just 2 people running it. Whapping Wharf has quite a few that I’ve heard are decent aswell, Gambas if you like seafood is good.
Not sure on Indian though, flying the next day. Any other recommendations that are near Urban Tandoor?
Most off the top of my head round there are just chain standard places. The Ox is decent for a steak but can be quite pricy. Whapping Wharf I mentioned is only a 10 minute walk from round there and has quite a lot of variety, maybe check that out and see if anything takes your fancy
Cheers will look at whapping wharf. Tare looks good, Gambas as well but I'm heading to Barcelona so not doing Tapas in Bristol.
Yeah, the wife doesn’t get why we are all going to watch Blue, Aqua and Peter Andre. We know though. We know.
What did you think? Took a bird there for her birthday before without checking menu, I hate seafood so just ate bread
We've extended our holiday at both ends, going for a full three weeks now. Going Thursday now instead of Saturday, so two extra days in France, and then delayed coming back a couple of days so we can go to Donanstia St Sebastian for a couple of days. Will be eating some proper top end tapas (might actually be pinxtos seeing as it's Basque?) on the 16th for the Mrs birthday. No doubt the kids will all moan like **** throughout.
