First time I have heard of anyone going to Salford for a coffee. Its like going to Toxteth for afternoon tea or Brixton for a cocktail.
French wild fires aside, I could do with going away this Saturday, not next. I'm ready to go. We should have just ****ed off as soon as schools finish.
why are you going to the 1950’s for a holiday. surprised you didn’t go look at Anfield, a taxi driver would have popped you past someone’s house showing it on TV
Didnt have time to do any of that, maybe on the way back to bedlam, it's a cousins wedding rather than a holiday. Just nice to get out of the smoke now and again so in that sense it's a holiday of sorts. A trip I think is best to describe it.
How bad is the air in London like? I noticed a difference when I first got off the plane here, compared to Merseyside were I never really thought the air was that bad. Can't imagine what London is like.
The heat down here is different, stagnent hot air, loads of people, condensed spaces all make it ****ty when it's hot. Ive lived here for so long bro Im probably not the one to ask how bad the air is cos I'm used to it.
People complain about the air quality and I haven't seen any measurements to go by, but surely it had to be a lot worse 4 or 5 decades ago, when cars were runnning on leaded fuel and loads of houses was pumping smoke out the chimney from the burning of fossil fuels. Then there was smoked filled bars. Stuff that was being built with asbesto's that fooked up your lungs in later life.
I always wonder how horrific London was ,to actually be there I mean, when Jack the Ripper was bombing around. Sounds like an absolute hellscape tbh. There's an amazing video on Youtube about those murders and the thing that scared me more was the idea that London was this massive, cobbled maze of dingy lit streets, smog, immigrants of every domination most not speaking English, prostitutes' and utter complete poverty. How ****ing horrific was the rest of the country that so many people flocked to London for work.
