I think I'd just pay the money and fast track it, couldn't hack the weeks of wondering.

First world problem
I need to renew my passport but I’m struggling to find a ten week gap (which is what they say) when we’re not abroad!
Anyone done it recently and know how long it really took? I can always fast track them…but I’m tight!
Did you attend the US embassy?
Yep that’s why I said itInteresting to see the answer
Killing time on a train so had a look, and amazingly it does seem to suggest you have to, to get interviewed

For anyone going to the US shortly, and if you haven't already got your ESTA , I'd recommend looking at the task now, because now you need to download the photo on your passport with your application. For those of us who ain't that savvy, it's a tricky job. Luckily, my Travel agent did mine. That's bob on Den, I'm heading to The States in May and was in Cuba last year.
Tbf you actually said anyone who had been to Cuba was banned from entering the US, which is a bit different.Yep that’s why I said it

I’m still amazed the embassy visit is needed though, there must be thousands of people in that position you’d think.
