I'm really keen on a trip to JapanWhere are you heading mate ? I'm not so bothered about the cities, although I'd like to see Tokyo. But I'd love to get out into the sticks and see some temples, meet some old school Japanese people etc.

Camping ?
What’s to love? The ex-pats? The lack of culture?I love it.

Of course you can ski there. It’s the Middle East.Didnt even know you could ski there! You are selling dubai to me mate!
If you make it to Sorrento try and squeeze in a trip to Capri. Absolute paradise.Did a weekend in Luxembourg a couple of weeks back
Got a week off before I start a new job at the end of this month so thinking a few days in Rome then down to Sorrento for a few more, with a day in Naples
Was going to do New Orleans that week but timing is a bit tight so didn't think we'd do it justice so that will have to wait until later this year
Will probably do one more after those - thinking either Banff, Vancouver or Japan plus bound to be the odd weekend away in Europe
Also going to be a weekend camping and a festival in there somewhere

I thought it was utterly soulless when I went 20 years ago and have found it even worse on every subsequent visit.Don’t mind the lack of culture. It’s no less cultured than other places swarming with Brits.
Great weather, top notch service, hotels and food. I’m not a huge drinker but there’s great nightlife. The weekend brunches are pure gluttony. Good watersports and generally there’s always something to do if you get bored of the sun or it’s too hot.
The ex-pats can be a bit lairy but you can avoid the chav types easily enough.

will try and fit it i but not sure will have timeI thought it was utterly soulless when I went 20 years ago and have found it even worse on every subsequent visit.
I did one of those brunches once. It was fun but I thought the disparate group of ex-pats we were with, who brunch every weekend, were quite sad, lonely folk.
Oman is a different story. Fantastic country.
You do know I was joking, yeah?
Please don't turn into Pixie or Bambi, mate.

I was there on business when I did the brunch thing. My business partner at the time had an ex-colleague who lived there so we hooked up with him and his "friends" for brunch. Basically a group of ex-pats thrown together as they needed a friendship circle. They seemed to have little in common apart from the fact they all lived in Dubai and drank very heavily. I'm sure it was a beautiful country before it became a playground.I’m not a fan of big group holidays in general now I’m past the week in Magaluf with the lads stage. It’s probably even worse when kids are involved. Actually the thought of having my own kids and having to spend my holiday keeping them alive sounds crap.
I'd rather nail my bollocks to a plank then go to Dubai, if I never go it'll be too soon.
Would love to go to Morocco, a country I've never been to and should have (amongst loads of others of course).
Can't see it happen for a while with three young kids, will have to wait unfortunately.
