Think I have a bit of 'the Piskie' in me from when I was a young lad. Trouble is now I am married to a woman who thinks that a holiday without Shopping is no holiday at all.I've just come back from an all inclusive in the Canaries, paid for by my mother-in-law so I'm grateful for that. But it was a family/kids holiday so lots of playing around by the pool whilst the adults just laid around on sun loungers. That's generally not really my cup of tea and the temptation to eat and drink all day is alarming. I had to rent a bike in the end and just get out on my own and go and explore.
Just realised though that she has already got two holidays sorted for this year without me: Dubrovnik, Sarejevo, Venice and Milan with relatives in March and New York with friends in April.
Daughter has been pestering me to hike the Inca Trail with her so might see if we can get a spot on that while I am still fit enough to do it. Otherwise it might be another working holiday in Timor Leste - still got a few more rocks and oil seeps to collect.
Oh and I am going to Newcastle in May to watch them end Liverpool's title hopes, if they have not been ended already.

Where are you heading mate ? I'm not so bothered about the cities, although I'd like to see Tokyo. But I'd love to get out into the sticks and see some temples, meet some old school Japanese people etc.
trust hiag.
