Geeky Gordon - get it right - "doesn't txt posts in good english " - bit like your smiley laden texts This is a football forum not an english language forum or a comic like the dandy
A quality goal though - they miss 9 times out of 10 but when they go in are memorable Come on you Owls - Elmo still a soft cheat - wimpish
The argument used for Defoe going to the MLS for six months against him being picked to me is utterly ridiculous. Was in a Sunday morning league? I have been quite a few MLS games now and the standard is not EPL but it's not ****e either like people are saying. It's improving rapidly with world class players joining it. Need to get our heads out our ass here. Defoe scored 15 goals this season in a struggling team. For a 'wee' man led the line I don't think he missed a game through injury. He's incredibly fit.....and what Sturridge gets the nod in front of him? I have read comments about different options and players like Carroll. Players don't change games....goals do....I believe Defoe's stats for shots on target etc is at the very top. Look at his goal against Chelsea......control, hit and pick it out the back of the net. Technically brilliant....I admit it's better for Sunderland that he is not going but I would presume Woy is going to this competition with the thoughts to win it? If so just take your best players.....
Got to agree, Sturridge should not be anywhere near the team. Rashford is going to be an amazing player but this is a tournament too early. Great goal against the ozzies but his touch and awareness was not premiership class yet never mind international class. It's like watching the Walcott story again when Sven was in charge. Hope I'm wrong but Roy just doesn't have the team setup or awareness himself to even progress to the semifinals. Sterling looked OK the other night but I stress again this was Australia and a 50 million player should at least play well against players of that level. As you say I can't hold the move to Canada against Defoe he soon realised it was a mistake and came back.
That's your opinion and is as valid as mine. The egg reference was a reference to post I replied to. Yes Rashford does have great potential but I am not sure how he'll fare in a pressurised game against quality experienced defen.ders. Simple - lack of regular international experienced goalscorers apart from Rooney so have no plan B
He hasn't shown any fear at the senior levels. Didn't show it Friday night either. I'd give the kid a chance.
