Hobbs

I like Hobbs , I'm starting to think that Chester is the better player but I can't see how Hobbs can get slagged off week after week.
Not saying the OP is slagging him off but some on here love to have dig at him.

He made a bit of a howler early in the second half and there was a great big moan around the ground.
Ten seconds later Rosenior makes a bigger one and nothing .

I just think some have jumped on the anti Hobbs bandwagon and can't see the great work he does .
He does make mistakes but who doesn't ?

Definitely, some had made him their new Harper, and it seems the only justification for it is that Hobbs played with NP at Leicester, so he must only be here to prolong the friendship :emoticon-0112-wonde

Hobbs and Chester are a great pairing and complement each other very well, i agree Chester is a classier player but Hobbs does what he is supposed to. It reminds me of Turner and Brown, Turner was the officer and Brown the sergeant if you look at that way, together they got the job done. How many games now unbeaten, somethings working well

still plenty of years left on the lad to iron out the little flaws in his game. right now he does the baiscs well and that'll do for me, especially with Chester beside him

Hobbs has improved as the season has gone on and is forming a good partnership with Chester. There's no doubting that Chester is the better of the two, but Hobbs is playing a big part in making us a tough nut to crack defensively and his contribution shouldn't be ignored.

Agree with this. Hobbs and Chester are both integral to the team now. We benefit from the differing attributes that both bring.

I certainly don't think Hobbs has become the new Harper, we haven't really had a scapegoat this season, Gulasci may have been(if he'd continued to play), but other than a few differences of opinion on quite how good some players are, all the first XI are playing their part.

But both Brown and Turner could pass the ball and were lethal from corners and set plays.

I would rate McShane on Par with Hobbs. In this case I would'nt break the partnership of Hobbs and Chester.

I do think though if you look at some of the goals conceded this season, including yesterday and the Bristol game and Donny game, it makes me question Hobbs.

Yesterday his clearance fell straight to their player, he constantly looks for the long ball and he cant play it short.

Bristol game he was out of position to compete for the header that led to their equaliser

Donny, Parkin Out jumped him to win the flick down for their player to score the equaliser.

I agree he is still young and learning his trade but I am convinced there are better options out there.

Firstly Wayne Brown could not pass he was a long ball defender, kick first ask questions later. Secondly for their goal yesterday Hobbs did his job and won his header against his striker so if you're going to question anyone for the goal its someone else who hasn't closed down a player on the edge of the box.

Agree with THETIGERSHULL,in that there's not much between Macca and Hobbs. They'll both do for me <ok>

Kempton i usually agree with much of what you say but that is fukin mental mate. There isnt much between them?? Yes its called the touchline and one of them should never cross it and get on the pitch!!

The only way i can see Macca getting back in the side is if there's an injury to either Hobbs or Chester. People can complain about Hobbs all they want, but we've only conceded 9 goals in 10 games and a good partnership is developing between Hobbs and Chester, with Hobbs improving as the season has gone on. I wouldn't change it for the sake of changing it.
