Perhaps Hernandez got cold feet at the thought of a ball coming to him on the floor all the time at Villa? Phelan OUT
Did he want to leave? If the club accept an offer and he doesn't agree personal terms maybe he didn't want to leave at all... That's what I'm hoping anyways.
the point is they placed their trust in Bruce but by the time he left that trust had gone - just look at the previous windows when Dio and Powell came in - both were poor signings at the time as far as injuries were concerned
No, the point is that the Allams don't want to put money in, but the new owners are happy to. That's all there is to it.
that's why Brucie said he left 'for the sake of Hull City' - he wasn't going to be given any more money - why else do you think he went, he knew the club was being sold, all he had to do was wait - but he didn't, he believed someone else would be given funds but he wouldn't - if you've got a better interpretation, happy to listen - maybe they just wanted him out and said it any way but the point is they wanted him out
Just caught a few minutes of Talksport whilst making a brew......... Sounded like Ray Parlour saying Hull have an unhappy player in Hernandez........ Villa offered him £75K a week now, and £125K a week if they got promoted this season. Hernandez and his agent said they wanted £125K a week now, and £175K a week in the Premier, plus a £3m signing on fee. Sounded like Parlour??? knew his agent, or knew someone involved
Much though I like Hernandez if what Parlour says is correct that is one seriously deluded player and agent if they were talking those sort of numbers .. unless of course it was a case of you'll have to make it worth my while to play in the Championship again for another season
I'm not being funny but of course it was that. What else would it be? Why do you think Diame went to Newcastle? Anyone who really thinks footballers give two ****s about 'the number of fans in the stands' or 'the passion of said fans' needs to give their heads a shake.
F*cking hell. Let me just get my old calculator out. So, 75,000 x 52 = 3,900,000. Is that right? £3.9m a year. And let me just try 125000 x 52. Oh no, it can't be. Better put some commas in. Try again. 125,000 x 52 = are they (Abel + agent) abso fooking lutely mental? £6.5m a year. Christ almighty. Even though he's one of ours, correction, currently plays for Hurr City, that is an obscene amount of money. And £3m for doing naff all. Jesus H. Heh, can still spell White Sh*te on it (50337).
Sounds like bollocks to me. Most of Villa's players had relegation clauses and even when they were in Premier League their best paid players (N'Zogbia and Richards) were on £50k, there's no way they're offering £75k a week after relegation.
TBH I wouldn't be surprised with how their now owner seems to think he can buy anything he wants in a footballing sense.
Think your views may be a little miss guided. it was well reported the Allams set a budget of around £16m - £18 for Bruce. Bruce left, a new bid came in and dealings put on hold. a "joint" agreement was reached as both parties knew the club needed signings or the club's current value and likelyhood to stay in premiership was in doubt. Out net transfer outlay is £13.5m, forgive my maths but isn't that less then what the Allams were going to put in??? The new owners are not "happy to put money into the club", why would they, they don't own the club yet!!!!
Certainly does sound like bollocks to me More likely Villa offered a stupid sum, the agent saw £££££ signs and demanded the right to hear Villas offer. Said agent has then seen the cash Villa have thrown around, chanced his arm for a mega deal, and been laughed at I think now the club has more stability hernandez will be quite happy
That's a stupid statement from Parlour. How can Hernandez be unhappy? We agreed a stupid fee and he clearly decided not to go. If he wanted to go, he would have.
It was reported that that was the budget, but the only thing that actually came from them - I believe - was that we were only able to buy free agents or loans. Also, Mason alone cost 13m so your maths is definitely off.
