The Man U/Leeds comparison wasn't meant to be anywhere near as complex as that. It was simply that Leeds offer an ugly, cheating brand of football and have done for years, attract these distant supporters who have perfectly good local teams to support and who probably need it, and provide these silly debates about being a big club, which they eventually concede is an irrelevant thing about history alone. United have consistently represented England well in Europe and beyond, they play a good passing game and rely on width and pace rather than knocking everyone over. I have no affinity for them or anything, just it pisses me off to see fans of a really nasty club going on about another team being 'scum'.

I've always considered Leeds to be 'firm but fair' rather than scum. We tend to disown players who are cowards or dickheads (e.g. Diouf and Bowyer). Man U, the contrary. Glad you think we "have consistently represented England well in Europe and beyond, they play a good passing game and rely on width and pace rather than knocking everyone over" :) thanks.

Please tell me you put that to see how many laughs you get? When you have got rid of Becchio, Diouf, Kenny and Colin (You got rid of Snodgrass which is a start) try saying that again.

What's scummy about Warnock and Kenny?

I've already expressed my views about Diouf twice in this thread so I CBA pursuing that line of argument.

Being honest, I actually am quite impressd with the reaction to Diouf by you lot. I reckon it'd be a difficult situation as fan. I also appreciate the fact you can have a decent debate with someone who obviously hates your club and has nothing nice to say <ok>

I suppose it's a good job Man Utd were knocked out of the Champions League at the earliest opportunity last season, so the rest of Europe didn't have to put up with that diving bastard Ashley Young's blatant cheating for too long. Lets hope the Manc Scum and Turk scum are both eliminated in the group stage of this seasons competition, as we wouldn't want anymore embarrassing situations such as when Mr. Ferguson walked out of an interview when the interviewer suggested both Manchester clubs were struggling in Europe only to be beaten by Basle.

ellandback, I think you can see from the predictably dull pantomime that is this thread, one of the reasons why I reckon a fair few of our posters would rather stay here.

Many City fans just aren't that interested in Leeds, and the low level of 'banter' hardly adds to it.

As I said earlier, if you want to promote a joint thread on your board, that's your choice and it'd help me because I'll just direct the usual ones over to it.

We've never really given a flying **** what people have had to sat about our club. In fact if anything it's playing into our hands as it's what we thrive on, which then winds other fans up even more.

Regarding the Diouf thing though. We have him now and that's not going to change for a while. So we get behind him, it's simple as that. He's done nothing wrong for us so far and he's a great help in the dressing room, especially with the younger players. Having him here has not dampened team spirit as you can see from our start.

No such thing as bad publicity. Lets at least give it a go, I'll get onto Enoch, and ask him to do a match thread, and lets see how it goes, if it falls flat on its face so be it <ok>

I hate Leeds because when I went to school back in the late 60's and early 70's in Hull ! Nearly everyone in my class ' supported ' Leeds ... Worst signing we ever made was Billy ****ing Bremner. Grrrr

Doubt if anyone of school age supports Leeds in Hull anymore..

Guess you was a big club , but not anymore.

Fav none Hull City game has got to be the FA cup final , Sunderland 1 Leeds United 0

:-)

I agree Scarborough, I think the last few years have killed off a lot of the Leeds support round here which can only be a good thing. I feel sorry for their fans the way their club has gone into decline though just as I would for the fans of any club.

I know someone who saw a car with a Leeds sticker parked in the Disabled spaces at Sainsbury Priory Park

Still not sure if this was typical dirty Leeds behaviour or the ****ty Leeds crest is an ipso facto admission of disability

Maybe the person was actually disabled? Just a wild thought to put out there.

For what it's worth, think it will be a tight game, a draw or one goal either way. I personally have nothing against Hull and it's always good to see Yorkshire teams doing well, so hope you do alright this season.

So Leeds fans how confident for Tuesday are you after today's results?
I notice your boys only had 5 shots today compared to our 26 against Millwall.

TBH Austin is the only Leeds player that worries me, but I think we could be on for 3 points.

I think this is the best chance we've had in a while to get 3 points at Elland Road. However, the Championship being the Championship and our recent record at Elland Road I'm not taking anything for granted!
