So Leeds fans how confident for Tuesday are you after today's results?
I notice your boys only had 5 shots today compared to our 26 against Millwall.

TBH Austin is the only Leeds player that worries me, but I think we could be on for 3 points.

That Alex Bruce is an awesome player for them though Craig. Oh wait....

Yes I think there's quite a lot of humble pie still waiting to be eaten regarding young Alex and not by Leeds supporters (never mind his dad and the 5-3-2).

We played well today, it's just that Cardiff took a world-class free-kick and we gave away a silly penalty. In terms of chances and play, I thought we comfortably matched them. Hull at Elland Road should be a win for us. Anything else is a disappointment.

Hmmm, I thought they took an awful lot of speculative shots which had no chance of going in (at least five of 'em), and we were very dangerous from the wings with Byram especially whipping a lot of crosses across the face of goal.

It says a lot about the game that all goals were settled through set pieces. Yes, they had a lot of the ball among their midfield and defence, but territorially, we matched them from what I saw (which was admittedly half blocked by the fat-headed bloke in front of me in my local which was illegally streaming it <laugh>).

But they're an expensive side with a good manager, they will take wins like that regularly, and I fully expect a result from the Whites against Hull. Not to disrespect your team (well, OK, to disrespect it a bit), I hardly picture you as major promotion contenders.

Amazing how different your interpretation of the Cardiff v Leeds game was to your fellow supporters and the BBC. I think I know who I believe.

That's fine, I don't mind. I just offered my own perspective rather than pandering to the majority view. I don't rate our team as even top-half finishers this season, but I do think we'll get off to a strong start and have a good home record. Hence why I think we can use the Cardiff semi-momentum to get a result against your own XI. :)

Actually many of our fans do to go games local to them (hence our away support, the biggest in England). And our Irish/Norwegian/American/Aussie fans tend to fly over once or twice a season when they can.

It's not about trophies much of the time, it's about the appeal of the club. E.g. Tony Yeboah in the 90s. Our bright young players in the early 00s. The valiant struggles since relegation. The glorious moments under Simon Grayson like promotion and the Man U cup win. This sort of stuff turns fans' heads. Our last trophy was only in 1992 though, which is better than most in this age of modern, commercialized football. :)

You're confusing *team* with *club*. Big difference. Admittely you're on a similar level to us team wise. I make absolutely no hesitation in saying that.

Well that's ****e from start to finish. Man U hate us as much as we hate them. After their icy runway misfortune in Munich, the national press raved about them and said it was their destiny to dominate English football for the next decades after a series of extremely dodgy loan signing from other top-end top-flight clubs. But they failed to do that, and Leeds replaced them at the top of the pile between 65 and 75 (at which point Liverpool and Everton took over, and Man U were actually relegated for a brief spell).

Then we met each other again in the early 90s and battled it out for the top flight. We won, in the last true staging of the first division before Murdoch's millions and other factors ruined the game for good. Then Man U bought their way to silverware and success just like their intercity cousins are doing today. Both teams have had a nasty element from the hooligan days of the 70s to the Munich songs to the snide references to Revie's motor neurone disease by Reds in the 90s to their Istanbul jibes to this day. They even tried to leave the English leagues and form their own 'super league' along with other elite clubs, meaning that clubs like Leeds and Hull could never play them again. Whores.

They have contributed nothing good to the game in the modern day. They've employed utter ****s like Keane, who confessed to deliberately breaking another player's leg; Cantona, who kicked and spat at oppostion fans; Evra and De Gea who have shoplifted like petty ****s; Rooney and Giggs who have betrayed their families and yet are held in legendary esteem; Scholes whose ill-advised tackles are a source of humour; Ferguson who molested a young woman in a taxi and is a paragon of hypocrisy during every post-match interview yet is bummed by their fans without exception... I could go on. They have no morals. They are SCUM. That is why we hate them.

You can bring up Brown, Becchio and Kenny, but none of them are truly scum. Diouf is the only one capable of qualifying for that dishonour, and I openly admit that. Leeds have contributed revolutionary advances to the English league during the Revie days, along with world-class football for the time. We pioneered the best academy in English football in the 90s. We still lead the way in traditional passion from the stands to this day. LUFC have a lot to offer.

I'd love to hear Hull City's cultural tale along those lines, if you have one.

Wish we had fans that flew over from the States and Australia once or twice a season to see Hull City play that would be very cool indeed

I think this is the best chance we've had in a while to get 3 points at Elland Road. However, the Championship being the Championship and our recent record at Elland Road I'm not taking anything for granted!

Last year we said the same thing, and also the time we played there in December 2006 when we drew 0-0 that was supposed to be a great opportunity to beat them, as we had just hammered Cardiff 4-1 and Leeds were out of form. Fact is, however much they like to go on about not caring about little Hull and their massiove rivalries with Man U, Barca and Real, Leeds do always raise their game to play us.

Why don't we do the cross board thing anymore anyway, mods ?

Not allowed any more. It stopped a while ago and whilst I believe it will be back one day, that day has not yet come.

I hardly picture you as major promotion contenders.

No one does, and it seems to be based solely on the whole 'big club' factor. Loads of neutrals had Leeds in their predictions to go up based on god knows what. I mean last year you finished 14th (was it?) lost key players and replaced them with cheaper, not exactly big-name signings. The Warnock factor is literally the only thing about Leeds that makes me think they might do well, but people seem to put them in their top 2 based on the name. On the other hand, we also have a big name manager with a good track record, but who has spent a bit of money on very good players adding to what was already very close to being a promotion team. Of the 4 games I've seen this season, we've been the better side in all of them and by all accounts, we outplayed Charlton in the other match we've played. Tell me, why would we suddenly be no longer a threat?

Because he's actually a **** manager, Barmby got an average team into a better place than they should have been, and your signings don't look too inspiring to the neutral.

Well your in luck, when NW walks cos dribbly beard wont give him any money for players then you can get Barmby to be your manager cos he is out of work right now and he will be cheap so uncle Ken will like that as well

Based on what he's done here so far he really isn't. Our signings have been quality, proven players. Faye, Quinn, Elmohamady and Aluko are some of the best players in the division in their respective positions. One of the few better defenders than Faye is Chester. Seriously, you really underestimate us.

Will we have the pleasure of your company on here if our average team beats the players of your huge club on Tuesday?

So you're telling me you wouldn't be happy with players such as Aluko, Faye, Elmohamady, Quinn and a reborn Simpson? I think most of the teams in the Championship would be happy with those players. On the evidence of what we've produced so far this season we look good enough to mount a promotion challenge and our points total looks impressive so far considering the teams we've played. It might take a good return from Tuesday's game and then Leicester on Sunday for people to sit up and take notice but I bet it will still be considered as a flash in the pan and we'll fade away. Until the next international break we have Leeds, Leicester, Blackpool and the Wendies to play and I think this will be a good test for our credentials as promotion challengers.
