Well done mate that’s great progress. As you say consistency is key.
Developed an obsession with the gym myself last April. Had a bad injury to my left ankle that I’m currently waiting on my first lot of surgery for so I’m quite limited in what I can do for cardio, no chance of running etc and I can’t really train my legs too much which is a killer but didn’t want to let it put me off too much. Train 6 days a week normally head down about 6:30/7pm do some cardio, lift weights then have a sauna and chill out. Head home about 9:30-10pm and have some bait before bed.
When I started I had AFLD (Alcoholic fatty liver disease) and had been drinking lager pretty much every night for as long as I can remember back 4 years. Was 96kg when I started, now around 80kg and 8% body fat after my latest ridiculous diet for a holiday but I’m ready to start enjoying my bait again now

But best of all just had my bloods done last week and they done a liver function test, every marker was bang on in the healthy range. Don’t get me wrong I still love a pint especially when it’s sunny outside, I’ll even go to the gym have a sauna etc then come out at 8:30/9pm and have a pint before going home sometimes. All in moderation though. Diet is bland and boring 90% of the time but that allows the takeaways, the beer etc to be consumed guilt free.
The biggest thing for me is that my headspace is good when I train. Dealing with stress from work, home life, other factors etc all disappears once I’m in the gym and it’s my time for me. Can’t recommend it enough if anyone’s on the fence.
