WRONG yet again. Slightly different scale, but compare and contrast the wholehearted support that the Liverpool Echo gave to J96. Or imagine if David Conn lived locally, was a City supporter, or worked for the HDM. Would he have meekly gone about his usual business? A column? **** me, they could have been selling weekly supplements (Villa Thriller, Night on the Toon or whatever pathetic **** they have come up with previously) if someone had taken it on board.
The local media have been piss poor at being journalists. They don't like to rock the boat in case they don't get fed sound bites from the club and have to work for their column inches.. There's nothing unrealistic about journalists looking deeper and wider for a complete story. A cautionary note could be that a closer look, would be at all involved, not just the club.
Unable to contribute further to the conversation, stock response is an emoticon. Good job investigative sports journalists such as Kimmage, Walsh, McIntyre (MacIntyre?) weren't put off by the like, just a shame they didn't work for HDM
It's a local rag, dependent on advertising from local businesses, expectations are therefore unrealistic. But feel free to keep whining on about it anyway, if it makes you happy.
Anyone can donate online, I doubt the Trust will do collection buckets, you have to be registered and having cash at a game is a pain in the arse.
For clarity, what is the actual aim of the protest? The op says it's 'against the way the club is run' which is a tad vague. It'll be interesting to see what the other bits of the protest are, as the cards work okay for making people think they're involved, but in reality, they didn't work for the membership scheme. All in all, fair play to the trust for doing something, but I can't help feeling they'd hae made a stronger point about fans being involved in discussions, if they'd have done the same themselves. No doubt I'll get the usual abuse for having an opinion on how a protest could be made more effective.
It's Carry The Coffin time..... Hmmmmm......... No, been over-done by too many too many times........... But..... carrying a Mummy??!! Obvious association, worldwide coverage guaranteed. No thanks required, just get on with it.
It doesn't say anything, it intimates some vague criticism without specifying what's actually being criticised. Obviously, not being very bright, I need help with these things, perhaps you could elaborate?
It's not a criticism, it's an observation. Vagueness actually relate to the earlier part of my original question. EDIT, retyped "earlier" as it seemed to confuse a couple.
I do think there would be a benefit in clarity about what exactly is being protested about...but only because there are so many things to choose from! The red card one was clearly about trying to stop the membership scheme being introduced, so what exactly is the main focus this time ? ( I may have missed something though to be fair)
