I remember reading somewhere (can't remember now and can't find the link) some American nutter..... sorry columnist....... stating that Scrooge was the hero pre the spirits visit as he had amassed vast wealth and was actually too charitable in employing Bob Cratchett who was a whiny, pathetic excuse of a man. His successful business was a fine example of a self-made man doing robust business in a time of poverty. Once converted, he succumbed to the weak minded ideal of giving to charity to help those less fortunate rather than letting capitalism take it's natural course (i.e. letting the impoverished to starve to death). Yeah, that's the true meaning of christmas!

So in the space of two days Don Balon have talked a Harry Kane transfer to Los Ladrones into being...and then followed it up with a story stating why it won't happen as the Oily Rat doesn't want to be upstaged and certainly doesn't want his good mate Karim Benzema getting marginalised, and instead wants a replacement winger. Sadly, the report resists the urge to suggest a Premier League winger who is having a great season who would obviously fulfil that role, who Marca are already tapping-up with the assistance of his national team coach...
In other news, there's headlines saying that Man Utd and Chelsea are both looking at Sokratis Papastathopoulos as an Alderweireld alternative. Errm...shouldn't we be looking at him as an Alderweireld alternative considering we're the team that supposedly needs to replace him? Or is that too logical for the average hack to comprehend?

On a completely different subject, this morning the BBC reported how the Universities and College Union had accepted the pension offer and the strikes would cease. This evening the UCU announced they had rejected that offer and the strikes would continue.

In the past the same injury has ruled him out for 3-4 weeks, meaning he'd potentially be back for the match with City.
All the "He missed X-many games last time" headlines" are including England friendlies and Season Killer Cup matches.
